Hello everyone! I have not posted here in a great while. But today I felt the need to.

I'm glad it is still going.

 

This was taken with a Bessa I with 105mm f3.5 Color Skopar. Film is Delta 100 developed in XTOL.

Film scanned, contrast added and a little warm tone.

 

Asahi Pentax original.

For those of your familiar with their screw mount cameras, you know what an elegant design the advance lever is. Now add to that a buttery smooth 180 stroke. Nothing else like it.

I also have a Canon ivsb2. I really like it. Often I set the finder to it's highest magnification and use an external finder for framing.

I have the 28, 35, 50,85,100.

All are gems but they are hard to find without internal problems.

Rick: I've never heard of a KW Pilot before, but nice work with it!

I was hoping to use a Voigtlander Bessa RF with a Helomar this weekend, but I realized there focus is really really stiff. Looks like I am going to have to work on it. Bummer.

Just one point on view scan though.. while the software is kept up to date, it still needs drivers for each scanner. And if the drivers are not up to date (many now), then it does not matter what software you use.

That Nikkor really has a distinct look! I like it.

It is really to bad that no one came out with a wide angle manual compact. An Olympus 35RC with a28mm lens would be perfect. Though I would prefer a 24mm.

 

It is somewhat of a holy Grail that does not exist.

You will have to settle for two of the three.

Canon iid2 rangefinder with Canon Serenar 35mm f3.5

Unlabeled bulk film developed in xtol.

 

 

 

Here are a few from a test roll using a Canon iid2 and Canon Serenar 35mm f3.5. film is from an unknown bulk roll. Processed in xtol. The negatives were a bit flat though they scanned well. Have to increase my development time by 2 minutes next go around.

You may also want to consider a Leica iii with a collapse elmar 35mm.

Or just get a Bessa l with the Skopar 25mm

There are very few cameras that for your description.

I have been unlucky with the Canon EF. Both the cameras I have do not meter or work in auto mode. The shutter works great at all manual speeds down to 30 seconds. But no meter. My guess is that the flash/normal switch is not working correctly and the camera is stuck on flash mode.

 

Very disappointing because one of the two I own is in beautiful near mint condition.

 

I would not mind seeing some of the service manual or teardowns if you want to share.

Unmarked bulk roll film developed in Xtol

In my opinion paying 200$+ for an Olympus stylus or yashica t4 is crazy.

Especially when many of the plastic slrs are going for peanuts. I had a Nikon 8008 body I could NOT sell for 10$.

Crazy!

Frankly, if you want to take snapshots, use your cell phone. If you want to use film, use a real camera.

Note that the contax iia is a bit smaller than the ii.

My iia weighs 527 grams without lens.

Havent posted anything for a while. Still having problems with development/scanning. Lots of particulates on the film. And it still looks 'mushy'. Cannot tell if it is the film or scanner.

These were take at 'tree top adventures' in Granlibaken (near Lake Tahoe, CA)

 

"The Twins" Two giant cedar trees. You can see in this first one the problems I am having.

 

 

 

One of the bridges goes between them. The bridge is about 15 feet off the ground. That gives you some perspective.

 

 

I really liked the fore/back of this image.

 

"Windchimes" Yes you have to walk across these.

 

I really like the perspective on this one. The tree on the left is vertical, but as you lok right the trees are more and more slanted.

Wow I'm surprised it worked. Looking at my selfix special i dont see how you could get any more out of it.

-Would like to see some results from it. The one I have is a parts only camera unfortunately. Somehow when I purchased it, I missed the fact that it was completely missing pieces of the rangefinder and shutter. Ug! Back on sale it goes!

Regarding gates.. whenever we drive around Napa, CA, we laugh about their gates. The wineries all have very fancy ornate gates at the front of their property. However there is rarely a fence! You can literally just walk around them!
