This dolichopodid fly is specialized to hunt other small animals on
wet vertical surfaces. Here it seems to be eating algae or drinking
water. Yes I know the reflections from the flash in the lower right
corner are a bit distracting. And the composition is not perfect, as
the legs were all over below.
-
Good composition, although the highlight on the left is bright enough to be distracting. This kind of imbalance could easily be fixed in Photoshop or an equivalent, though. Flash flattens a bit.
-
Nice idea. Tighter cropping and more dynamic (diagonal) composition would have improved it. Kind of 'ambient photography' (as ambient music) - does not try to say much. Or does it?
-
It's hard to be artistic with small moving targets when just getting
them into focus inside the frame is a challenge. I have got about this
far. The low right corner is smoothed to hide some disruptive details
in the vegetation.

I'm curious to know what you think. I would myself like a diagonal composition better.
This is unarranged except for the lightning and the background. The insect inside is
Tipulidae sp. (a cranefly), and the name of the plant I don't remember. It grows
originally in northern America, anyway.

For a B&W-challenged person this looks surprisingly good. Well composed. One should really see this kind of photos as good prints. How is tonality at the dark area at the bottom of the picture?
-
Well composed from the messy ingredients. I would prefer simplification, but what you have here is somehow very natural. Forests are messy after all.
-
Good, original composition, although the bird is not so original (the species is not even new to science, how would that be 5 then? :)). Not sharp.
-
Very nice. The large proportion of sky, including the deviant cloud up there is not good for this photo, however. On your next holiday there, paint the sky darker with a polarizer (or is it used already?) or give more space for the sand. :) Not bad like this however!
-
The Bogen tripod is hard to see at this magnification, fortunately, but it is there,
near the fence! Otherwise, I'm bit ambiguous on this: is there something in it or
not? Taken on 90's in Northern Norway. The intention has been to describe the
desertness and bad weather.

At least it's big enough...
-
I can see the filter too clearly. Is it out of focus or not?

I like it, except that the moon looks more like the sun. 5.5/5.5 :)
-
Creative and beautiful. Oh yes, the flowers could be bigger! :)
-
The idea is very nice but it doesn't quite work - the fish looks badly abused which gives a strange and I guess unintentional tone to the photograph. What would a polarizer do?
-
Quite well composed but messy (I don't mean dirt but the vagueness of the subject).
-
Not bad, but the convergence of the twigs and the background distracts.
-
I can see the idea, but you should have decided to either include the reflection of the neck and head in the composition or not. Excluded, too much space below; incded, too little space down there. The reflection is not quite salient enough to be taken seriously.
-
Focus issues. Too much empty at the bottom (more light would have been needed to make the green part visible enough).

Nicely balanced.

This seems to be the most popular photo in my portfolio (in terms of
views), so I'd like to know your thoughts on it.
