Astrid,
This is a very nice photograph; I liked the composition a lot, and the lady's smile gives it a very special touch; wonderful portrait. Very nice portfolio as well. I liked the portraits.
Only one thing I did not like in this one (probably nothing to do with the photo itself), the gentleman's nails are dirty. Unless he works as a auto-mechanic technician or related activity (and probably even so), he has no excuse for that lack of personal hygiene which attracted my attention (hope only mine). And hopefully she's not looking at his finger-nails.

Taken from my deck. Excuse the power line accros the trees. Photo is
cropped a little from the top (yeah, another power line).

Yes, the style looks interesting and very nice to me too, but found it too busy after minutes of looking at it.
Crop the junk, standing sailor, and pole at the left and we may get a better photograph; yes let only the car and the smiling lady in the frame.
My two dimes. Hope you'll agree.

This is a very nice picture, very good composition, nice depth of field and also great exposure. Congrats!
I've seen your portafolio and liked it very much. I am also shooting film and still need to find a good scanner for my photos. Are you scanning your prints or your film strap?
What scanner would you recommend?

The sepia idea made it look great. Now the image made me think different about the boots.
As for the title.... probably something related to lonelyness, help, time wears you out, ageing, etc.
Good luck!

Poor Boots; title your work.
I am also learning. The photo is good to me; you can see it by the ratings gotten so far.
Yes, a closer look would have been better, which in turn would crop the busy top side.
Some times, depending on the subject, it helps getting low to the same level of it. In this case, getting low to take the shot from closer to the floor.
Hope this helps!
