    I really like this photo. Despite it's small size the object in the distance (buoy?) is the center of attraction since there are no other distracting elements. I would tone down the purple or magenta color.
  1. Nice diagonal composition that accentuates the water, and I like the yellow color of the structure. However, the purple color detracts from the photo. If you select the purple color using "color range" in Photoshop or equivalent, and then change the hue and saturation to something more pleasing, the photo would be greatly improved. It might be a good one to try as black and white.
  2. Very nice photograph. Reminds me somewhat of a photo taken underneath a pier by Wynn Bullock. If I place a card with a rectangular cut-out over the image and place the horizon exactly in the middle or up or down makes no difference to me. My eye is not drawn to the horizon but rather to the vertical lines of the posts. I think that the photo would look better if the dark strip at the bottom were cropped out. Having the shaddows extend to the bottom of the photo would enhance the mystery of the image. Place a card over the bottom black region and see what you think.
