I'm fairly new to PS Elements II. Still kind of feelin' my way around. I may have used a little too much USM? Not really sure what you mean by a real shiney effect but I'd love to try it if you explain further.

Tell me your thoughts about the image, good or bad. Thanks !

I love the idea of this but this particular J-peg doesn't seem to have quite enough contrast and sharpness to be able to pick up the important details. I hope you don't mind but I played around with the image trying to bring some of these details out. Unfortunately, I ended up finding some faces in the tree and had a field day with them. Don't mind me, I'm just getting my feet wet with PS Elements and I love finding stuff to practice on each day. Please forgive me. :)

Sorry, this is a repeat but I've made some sharpening corrections
that hopefully make it a slightly more inviting image.

For me, it slightly distracted me from the main image and for the most part, I just have PS Elements on the brain lately because I'm just learning it and think it's so cool. I played around with this image, took out the hay and the fense poles just as an experiment.
By the way, I've looked at your portfolio and LOVE your work. You have an GREAT eye and obviously are a much more experience photographer than I. I'm just enjoying getting my feet wet with this PS Elements program.
For the results, check it out here.....

Really love this. Reminds me of my youth. Very inviting. Being a recent PS Elements enthusiast, I would probably try to get rid of that row of white, what ever they are, on the horizon but that's being VERY picky. Thanks for posting the shot.

Well, actually my second. A very long time ago I tried to upload
this same image but the original was a huge TIFF and I knew
absolutely nothing about compressing and resizing and it ended up
being one big blurry blob. Any and all constructive critiques and or
incouragements are welcome. I know I have a lot to learn.

I think your photo of the same nature that is titled sorrow is more engaging for some reason but I like this one also. I'm surprised by the sharpness of the photo, even when enlarged. Is there any interpolation or sharpening going on here or is this what you're getting with that Sony all on its lonesome?
