1. Thanks for the various takes on the photo.
It triggered a question I had about cropping and if there is a line to cross when cropping is not 'acceptable' in some area (editorial vs personal appreciation of an image) - where that line is and who draws it.
I placed my rambling here - LINK - and just wanted to say thanks for the thought and the cropping versions.

  2. Not the most interesting photo in the world but when I had scanned it I realized

I felt like cropping it and tried a number of versions.
Would be interested in seeing other take on what they would do as it's always

interesting to learn different ways of 'seeing' and this may be an ok image to

    try it out on.

Taken with a Leica M3 and Summicron 50/2.

  3. I tried out using IR film for the first time a few weeks ago - in my Leica III

    (F).
Put an old, dark-red filter on an equally old Elmar 50/3.5 and I was off to the

    races. I thought..

After having loaded (and cutting) the film in a dark restroom in a cafe up

in Northern California I realized I had to guesstimate the exposure as the film

isn't really ISO rated. On top of that I *cough-cough* forgot to fully extend

the Elmar and realized that the shutter was dragging a bit..and I may have a

    light leak. Life was good.

It was fun and different in that I looked for scenes that I normally wouldn't

when shooting regular B&W film but the result...well, here are some for you to

    'enjoy':

    photos to show? :-)

  4. Visited another old camera store (International Camera, Oakland, CA) a month ago

and snapped some photos of it using an Olympus 35SP and Kodak Tri-X 400.

I did a short write-up of the place, and some more photos, here for anyone interested.

It was amazing to see all these cameras in boxes, on shelves or simply hanging

    off the walls.

  5. Not with a rangefinder but with a scale-focusing Olympus Trip 35 that I took out for a while ago but just scanned the roll a few days ago.
