  1. Hello everyone,

I recently bought a flash head that has four flash tubes in it, and is a part of a Broncolor Hazylight clone made by a Dutch company BEAM (no longer in business). There are four cables coming out of the head and each tube is rated at 3000 Watt-seconds.

The photographer I bought it from told me that the two of the four tubes are not working, but  he didn't need that much power anyway.

Upon examining the four flash tubes I noticed that on two of them the wire that goes around the flash tube and ends inside the third pin on the flash tube base  is broken on one and non existent on the other, apart from the small piece that goes into the third pin on the base.

I know thar the three pins are a Plus, Minus and the third is connected to the trigger coil than initiates the gas inside the tube, so it can produce the strong flash. (or something like that)

MY QUESTION(s) IS(are): -What is the type of wire used for that purpose?

                                             -Where can it be bought?

-Is there a specific thickness requirement for the wire

or can a "close enough" is sufficient?

I plan on trying to add the wire to the two flash tubes that don't have it and make them functional again.

Enclosed is a photo of a flash tube that is supposedly a good one, showing the wire around the flash tube. The ones without the wire look to be in better condition than this one pictured, no blackening around the electrodes.

Thank you in advance, any advice is much appreciated!

  2. Hello,

I recently bought this power pack but have no Idea what the buttons on it are for.

I know that the red button is the power on button, but that's it.

Could someone identify this power pack for me and give me its specs.

Also, the explanation of the diagrams next to the buttons and knobs would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

  3. Hello all,

I have Broncolor power packs and heads and I need to adapt some Bacar heads to use with the packs. I need a source for head connectors and what are they called (Type, Brand). The connector is a long type

same as with Elinchrom, Hensel and old Profoto. Also Bowens. Images are enclosed below.

Anyone knows where to find them? Thanks!886848991_PackConnector2.thumb.jpg.b97ce6d1ce4b0a78da584b31f52f78e5.jpg 1935365970_PackConnector1.thumb.jpg.da053ed4979dca0f8b7f745e1e081caf.jpg

  4. THANK YOU, Orsetto! This helps a lot. Can you please help me understand something: Pictures 5 and 8 are the same item, sorry about the confusion. Picture 1 is a smaller version of the ring in 5 and 8. What is the silver ring on one side used for> It unscrews from both rings and there is a thread when it is unscrewed. I don't see how anything from the camera can be attached to it. What are they used for?

And is there a resource on the net where I can get information. I looked for a long time before I posted here and cannot find it.

    Thanks again

    Milo

  5. Hello all,

I recently bought a long desired Rolleiflex SL66 and it came with a bunch of accessories that I am having trouble identifying.

I am assuming they are for some kind of Macro or Copy work, but I would like to ask for help in identifying them because the camera came with one lens and a box of these that I don't know what they are.

So Here are some of the pictures. Please let me know what they are.

Pictures 2.1 and 2.2 are of the same bayonet mount that was wrapped in a piece of brown paper that had the following numbers written on: 96.841.00.0

    Thanks in advance

  6. Hello,

Today I experienced a strange outcome of one of my scans from a B&W negative. I got a result similar to those

cheap Photoshop filters (image enclosed). Also enclosed are screen shots of scanner settings. Please note that

although I have been scanning B&W negatives, I used Agfa Optima setting on the "film type and Exposure" window,

and that was not the reason for the result I got. I have been using this (and other) settings that made little

sense to the actual film type being scanned (usually Kodak) before, because they worked best for me and my

pictures. A friend suggested that this might be a scanner lamp malfunction. If this should be the case, can

someone suggest where a replacement might be obtained? Please find enclosed a screenshot of the result I got,

(image 1.jpg) and screenshots of scanner settings (images 2-7.jpg) by clicking on the links below. Any comment

and suggestion to what the reason or solution to this problem might be, would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
