Thanks guys! The exposure time was about 8 hours. The red cast occurs naturally from reciprocity of Velvia 50.
The scene in general was lit with perhaps 50 to 100 full powered pops of a handheld flash while the line behind the rock was painted with a daylight balanced flashlight... which took anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes.

During my many trips to Death Valley, I often felt as if in another
world. I have recently began an attempt at photographing it as such.
When I took this picture, I realized it might not be well received by
others... but I photographed it according to what I had envisioned in
my mind so that I might remember how I feel when walking on the salty
earth of Badwater. The Panamint mountains were beautifully lit by the
morning sun while the salty foreground had yet to see the light of
day...

Yah, it's completely blown out.

Hi everyone. What do you think of my attempt at the Yosemite Tunnel
View? :) It may not appear sharp on your monitor because of the
compression, but I assure you, the actual photo is razor sharp. :P
Fire away! Tell me what i could have done better please! :D Thank you.

Great composition. Are those colors natural on the ruins? Wow
I'm curious to know how you made the background clouds and trees out of focus... was it an aperature thing or a manipulation thing?

This scene is gorgeous. Where is this Mosbrae Falls? Wow! Great composition... although the leaves in the front being blurry is a tad distracting, outside of that, nicely done.

I can't think of a better place for that baloon...(what do you call that) the baloon basket to be then right where it is with the dark shadows definining it. Even got a foreground! If only the sky was bluer.

I would have cropped lower or did the shot vertical. The bridge is so close to the bottom, it makes me feel uptight.
Ocean Wave

I stood atop the black rocks as I watched the sun get closer to the horizon. I set my camera
to a slow shutter speed and waited for the perfect wave to come in... this was the result.
