Hi Everyone,
I am posting images on my site for my clients to download. I shoot resorts and
hotels. The images will be used for the web and for print. I use a 'canned'
hosting company which allows me to only post RGB high res JPG files.
My question is what RGB profile should I be embedding to get the most out of the
photographs when they go to print or the web.
I use Adobe CS on a MAC. I can select pretty much any kind of profile.
Thanks so much for your assistance.

Some confidence.

Hey folks,
I am shooting pics at a TV studio soon. They want me to possibly use their
lighting because of the studio time available. I'm guessing, but trying to find
out for sure, that they are using hot lights for TV. Not sure, but probably
Tungsten.
I am shooting with a Canon 1D and using a Sekonic meter. I'm guessing that
these lights are going to show up warm as heck. Are there any pointers you
can give me for dealing with this kind of set up. I was just going to shoot and
check the LCD and histogram and adjust the Kelvin till I got close. I'm taking
my lights and reflectors just in case.
Thanks-a-million.

This will probably make a whole bunch of you sigh. Yes, a long deep audible
breathe.
I have been shooting with two 550ex's for about 3 years with pretty good
results. I have a transmitter that I use to get the flashes off the camera. I have
recently purchased two Alien Bees and the AB remote wireless system,
because, hey, I need more light. I'm shooting kids indoors. Moving kids. KIds
that like to climb on tri-pods. I know that the 550's are TTL. I know the AB's
have to be flash metered. I'm shooting with a Canon 1 series. My question is
can I use all of them together? If its not difficult be specific.
Yes, I have searched the forum and nobody has posted a question quite like
this... and probably for good reason. :-)
As always... you guys are great, and up front I would like to thank you for your
unselfish help.

Hi everyone,
Well I have a great question for all of you! I have been waiting for
sometime to upgrade my camera EOS D60. I am looking at the
1D Mark II N. I know that pretty much anything is better than what
I have but I'm trying to decide between the 1D MII N and the 5D. I
shoot pretty much anything. Mostly nature,
architecture(indoor)(outdoor) and surfing/sports. OK MY
QUESTION IS... Why would I buy one camera over the other.
Also, if someone could explain a lens focal length conversion
factor and why its used and not used in cameras that would be a
bonus question. As always I really appreciate all of your wisdom
and help. Cheers

I have a DSLR. The other night some friends asked me about
cameras and I steered them towards point and shoots because
of the stuff they takepictures of.
SO... I like the Canon G5 and I said they should look at that PAS.
Care to offer comment on anything better?
I'll pass your info along.
Thanks

I have a Canon d60 that I'm taking to France. I live in the USA.
I see on the back of the charger that it's input is:
100V-240V AC 50-60Hz
I bought the little plug adapters but do I need the converter too?
Thanks
a bunch

It would seem that shooting at most sporting events you would
be able to shoot fast... they have enough lights in those places to
force you to wear sunglasses even at night games.
If you want to shoot your friends at a picnic sitting under a tree or
shoot your dog on an overcast day you'll dig the IS.

Wow, that answered my question.
Thanks Rob

OK here are my two cents worth. YES spend the extra money.
I was in costa rica shooting surf shots in some not so friendly
areas. The last thing I wanted to do was to announce to people
on the street that I had a bunch of photography equipment in my
purposefully crappy looking pelican box, by carrying around a
tripod. Man get the IS. I can think of about fourty other simple
reasons to get the IS... Anything a photographer can do to get rid
of all the xtra crap is a good idea.

I have about five sandisc compact flash cards that have served
me well with no problems what-so-ever and was about to
purchase a 1gig extreme card. Are there better, faster cards or
any other/better ways of storing photos. I have D60 by the way.
Thanks Always for your Help

Thanks to everyone... especially those with additional
references. I'm really into shooting things that I general don't
see. I've been on my knees the last three days taking pictures of
ants. Smile Mr. ant... OK.... HOLD IT... HOLD IT.
Take care

I know this stinks... but you really can't. At least I haven't found a
way and wish someone would. I have a D60. I take the shot...
about four of them from different angles and look at the preview
and see what I have. It's all experimental and the best shots for
me are always mistakes or un-planned

Hi folks,
Hey I was playing around with my lenses... turning them
backwards and just holding them up to the body and getting
some cool macro shots. I have a d60 and the best lens is the EF
16-35mm for this kind of macro look... ANYWAY... Is this cool and
can anyone think of a way that I can mount the lens on to the
body? You know... no light leaks... no lens drops...
Thanks

Is a neutral density filter out of the question... maybe a .3 I think a
.6 would be to much... just thinkin'
-
Martin
Do you have say a lens 16-35mm.
Take that sucker and reverse it and hold it up to the camera body
and move close to your subject... like an ant.... until it comes into
focus and take the picture. It'll work... EXPERIMENT. The
reversing ring works.
they're dang cheaper than buying a new lens. I take pictures of
ants and other small critters all the time when I don't have my
ring with me by just flipping my lens around and hand holding it
up to the body.

Matt,
I live in a marsh area and have found that a great deal of the
marsh birds will go to a small hole at low tide with little water in
it. I figure small fish are getting trapped in the small ponds... and
then hey like fish in a barrel. I have three of these little holes that I
go to at low tide and poke my head around the corners to get
great shots. Also if you have say an orange kayak... make
something that floats like a log the same color and shape of your
kayak and leave it at the hole. The birds get used to seeing this
orange non threatening thing and have no worries. When they
see another orange thing come floating around the corner they
think hey its another one of those orge floaty things.... just don't
leave the decoy there to long. A couple of days should do the
trick.

MY QUESTION. I want an extender to shoot marsh birds (can't
walk in the marsh). I want to use it on my 70-200 1:2.8 L IS USM
Should I get the 1.4X or the 2X? Will I loose any picture quality
with either?
Thanks Terry

OK, OK, After reading more reviews on this.
HERE IS MY QUESTION.

Should I get the 1.4X or the 2X?
Will I loose any picture quality with either?
OK lets try those questions.

I have a Canon D60. I am trying to shoot marsh birds (with my
camera) with a 70-200mm 1:2.8 L IS USM and I'm not quite
close enough for the shots I want. Can't walk through the marsh.
How well do the extenders perform? Any do's and don'ts?
Thanks for your wisdom.

The Resort pays me once for shooting the images then I help in getting the images to the vendor wether it be a web developer in Georgia or a publication in the UK. If I sent out images on disc to every vendor who emailed me a request my life would be miserable. Instead the vendors for my client can go to a password protected site and get what they need. Then I can do what I need to do, take photos. So... long story short. Which profile should I save in to save the best color and best information. I have heard that sRGB doesn't provide the amount of info as Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB. Don't know.
Thanks
