Thanks, this is one of my favorite "accidentally cool" pictures! I used a disposable underwater camera that I bought while in Puerto Rico. I felt like experimenting with it, so I stuck half of the lens into the ocean and left the other half above the waterline. I think I increased the saturation a bit and made the hue slightly more blue, but that's it for manipulations.

well, the creepy part was not totally out of my aim, so i'll take that as a compliment of sorts.

this isn't the actual original photo. i have a darkroom-printed b&w of this that i have yet to be able to replicate with any sort of merit. so, this is a photograph of the photograph that i took digitally, hence the crappy resolution.

side note: the pictures in my portfolio aren't really my best work, but rather what i currently have scanned. i'm still more of a film kinda gal.

This was more of a test than a real picture. I took a picture of myself in my old pointe shoes on my living room carpet (read: ugly) just for fun, then decided to put it on a better background & fade it. Ideally one day soon I'll expand on this idea. Thanks for the comments.

Oh, and this was just from my p&s 2MP digital.

  1. I like what you've (I assume) done to blend in the clouds and background. It doesn't look "fisheye-ish" off the bat, which I think is unique. Refreshing perspecive on an over-photographed subject.
