The angular and stark poses of the talent vs the smooth and silky texture of the nature around them creates an intriguing contrast. The seemingly out of place composition just makes me want to stare at it all the time, while trying to work out just what the heck is going on. Bravo!

    Fiji Wedding

I never really considered myself as a wedding photographer, but I

was especially pleased with the results of my sister's wedding in

Fiji. I'm kinda eager to know what everyone else thinks.

  1. There are no definite rules to determine CGI these days. Usually CGI tends to be inaccurate to what your eyes would normally see. You can't tell what it is but you know it's wrong.

    Some points to consider:

    -Water is rarely realistic

-Lighting still requires a definite talent. Most cheap CGI effects are given away by bad lighting, resulting in an unrealistic contrast, shadow and reflection.

-Hand-made animation is usually inaccurate. If something moves wrongly, it's usually animated by hand.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Beautiful vibrant colours...I didn't think about the clutter until I read the comments. The twigs in front of the bird's face could easily be cloned out. Perhaps a Rule of Thirds too?

Thanks for the constructive criticism. These were just holiday snaps which I posted out of curiosity to see if they were any good.

One day...I will actually get off my fat butt and go out and take some proper pics ;)

Here's an attempt at a close up of a sea eagle on display in a

    wildlife park.

Let me know what you think and how I can improve. I'll try to respond

    positively. Thanks ;)

Because her feet didn't quite make it into the shot, I decided to leave the grass there because there are no other clues to hint where she is standing. Next time, I'll see if I can un-clutter them somewhat though.

I learned a valuable lesson while taking photos of this eagle, that

is to never use auto-focus on a cheap lens when shooting fast-moving

    subjects :)

I've tried to make this bird and her surrounding habitat look as wild

as possible. What do you think?

  2. Great work. I can see 4 layers in this photo...the ripples, the boat, the island and the mountains. Each step created an immense feeling of depth. The boat acts as a subtle reference point.

I also like how you've concentrated on the ripples.
