    Glacier Peak

Daniel -- Glacier Peak (GP) is the most remote of Washinton's volcanoes and the only one that is entierly contained within designated Wilderness. Thus, it's hard to get close to it, but it's well worth the effort. Floods in the fall of 2003 washed out roads and hiking trails along the west side of GP, making acess on that side more difficult. Views like this photo usually take > 10 miles of hiking, but you can see GP from afar from many locations in the North Cascades. I think GP is beautiful any time of year, but I like it most in the spring and early summer - when the contrast between high-elevation snow and low-elevation vegetation is highest.

Any comments are welcomed, but I'm particularly interested in

comments on composition. I've played with a few different cropping

options, with and without the outhouse on the left, and setteled on

    this.
