Here is my attempt to create something from 'not much' - I've put the
original image in my portfolio for a comparison.

A rain shower passes by over the hills of North Harris in the
backgroud and beautiful green waves break on the light sands of
Rosamol Beach.
Ever tried using a tripod at the shore line - wonderful fun!!
-
Here is an image using my HP R707 in Munich of the New Town Hall - I
was extremely lucky that the moon was just being covered by a thin
layer of cloud and this added to the image.

Here you can have two pictures for the price of one!
There is, of course, the cat looking over the step - and - the donkeylooking over the wall!
Once you see the donkey can you switch to the cat?
-
Scottish weather doing what it does best - an enjoyable evening
offshore rain storm.

This statue can be found in Glasgow UK and has been well photographed. My attempt was the result of a frustration in trying to get a good digital print. I had had a few attempts but they never quite came out as I wanted.
This one had the contrast control moved quite a bit and details that I could not see in the earlier prints appeared - and it looked more like some of my work that I used to do about 15 years ago in the wet lab!
I'm pleased - what do you think?

Living in Scotland - here's one to remind us of summer in these dark
days of winter...
-
An image taken from the 8th Level of the Tolbooth in Stirling (Scotland) on an Olympus Stylus 300 - it conveys exactly the feeling of a freezing fog!
What do you think?

A 'flowing' picture of tourists decending Uluru (Ayers Rock) in the
middle of Australia (yes - that is the colour of the rock!)
-
A winters afternoon on Inverary, Scotland.
-
This is an image of Ben Lomond taken from Duck Bay Marina on a
winters evening.
I was struck by the similarity of the clouds shape to the mountain.
-
This is a view of the large beaches found at Seilebost looking over
to Lukintyre. In the left background is Taransay with North Harris
seen in the full background.

Just for the record to show the current situation as of 1st April 2003
you can view Chicago from the webcam at http://www.adlerplanetarium.org/

I though that I would upload this image that I took from a trip on a Boeing Stearman from the 'late' Chicago Meigs Airfield for you to enjoy. This airfield is no more. Those who use MS Flight Sim will recognise the location as the the 'default' airfield. The Mayor of Chicago had it dug up during the night of the 31st March. I've also posted an image from the Adler Museum 'Sky Eye' cam to show the current situation.
My moto in photography has always been "take it now - because it WILL have changed tomorrow!"

Stormy weather approaches the shore from the Atlantic Ocean and a
shower of rain is beginning to obscure the distant hills. A lovely
location for photography - you will usually be on your own.

This is an image taken at Leuchars Airshow, Scotland, UK in 2002.
It was taken low down using a 210mm lens on a Mamiya 645 camera. I
then removed all modern items such as modern jets and ground
equipment to make it look in the 40's.

A lovely weather front moves across the Beauly Firth behind Chanonry
Point Lighthouse

Nice atmosphere

This is an unmodified version with no filters and no correction for
the converging verticals.
There was a lot of high level cloud with the low level cloud being
lit by the low sun angle.
-
Taken low down so more sky is shown. I used a Cokin Grad T2 to help
the sky.
-
One of two images. Each one has placed the cottage on the thirds -
this one with it on the lower right and the other with it on the
upper right. The other one shows more of the 'lazy beds' which were
the way that the inhabitants used to farm the land. They now look
more like ridges on the ground.
This image used the grad grey fliter to hold back the sky.

Many thanks for your comments - like most photographers when presented with a scene like this I've also got it all in focus (f32 it was), with and without the Thrift and many other combinations.
This one was different. You can't take enough at the time!
-
This image of Thrift on the rocks was taken with the camera on the
ground to get the lowest possible view point. I focused on the
thrift - so the sunset is thrown out of focus. I feel there is great
depth in this image.
Nisabost Beach is on the West coast of the Isle of Harris of Scotland
UK.

This picture is one of many that I took last July on the Isle of
Harris. This is one that didn't use any filters.
InfraRed image from my compact camera - using the Hoya R72 filter. Truly remarkable!
