This was a dog up for adoption at our local shelter where I

volunteered taking pics.

Any thought on this pic.

Nothing to hide, I also posted the color version in HDR, I agree maybe a touch overdone.

I used Niksoftware and wanted to push it as far as I thought would be nice.

Lovely shot. Ofcourse I am biased as we have two as well.

Hey guys, that was a lively discussion. I did not mean to make any excuses just because it was a spur of the moment thing. I appreciate all the comments, good and bad, because thats what makes us better. In fact I went back to the original and made some of the changes recommended. At the end of the day my sister in law loves the pic and all the other stuff really does not matter to her. I love photography and this is what will make me better. Thanks for all the comments

Thanks for the honor of having my first pic of the week. I appreciate all the comments. This was not a formal session. My sister in law asked me to take some pics of their two labs and it was just a spur of the moment thing. Nothing fancy just a dog in the back yard, without any other aids to help me with lighting etc etc.

Thanks, yes I know what you mean. We already have two dogs, otherwise this one would gone home with me. I am very pleased with his "sad" look.

This is a nice shot but it appears a bit over processed. The halos around the bird take away from the shot.

I volunteer taking pics of the dogs at the Edmonton Humane Society .

This pug is up for adoption and I just think his expression is priceless.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We have two Golden Retrievers and its always in the back of your mind. What a nice shot of him.
