the background jack is immature. the foreground one is not quite
mature.

graphically strong, but I want to see enough of the sign to know what it says.

well done. what was in the background? thanks for including tech details - it's interesting to see how much freezing of the wings a particular shutter speeds achieves.

walter, i'm astonished at the freeze in action at 1/30 of a sec. great colors. i agree about the placement. these are tough critters to capture. regards, bob

walter, cropping brings us closer. this is about 70% of the original. i was was very pleased with the conversion of the kodachrome to b&w and am considering using it instead of bw film. bob.

the energy coil of the pose spirals out into the negative space. the lighting and the digital alteration enhance.

lots of interest and potential here. closer to sun rise/set might be more effective. maybe more of the right end of the wall. the sky may be a bit too saturated. worth a return trip. regards bob.

interesting pose and lighting. i'd like to see variations of his expession and the placement of the back light.

Aminita virosa. very deadly
-
well seen. good composition. interesting slice of life
-
well done. maybe just a bit more space at top and bottom
-
good composition. the main flower is the focal point so i think it should be in better focus rather than the flower in the back. good job.

ada, my ps skills aren't so good, so i can't suggest anything there. but i find if i can remember to shade hot spots at the time i take the picture, i'm happier with the results. -- also the colors look fine to me. regards bob
-
very well done. it would be truly spectacular without the hot spot in upper left.

Chicken of the Woods
in Nature
Posted
Thanks everyone for the good words.
Nicholes and Robert, you give me too much credit. Chicken of the Woods is the common name for this mushroom. It's so name because its taste and texture resemble chicken more than you would think a mushroom could.
If you supermarket has wild mushrooms, you may find it there too.

bob
