I just bought a Velocity 9 sling bag from Tamrac. I find it works really great with my 20D, 70-200 f4, 10-22, 28-135, 580 EX and cards, external hd for transfers etc. It's a bit heavy with everything in it but normally i have the camera and one lens around my neck and then the weight is not an issue.

I have had a 30 gig Flashtrax for about 2 years now. Only time I had problems was when I was transferring images while it was in my shooting vest with me walking around shooting. Don't know if all the moving around caused a problem or if it was heat related as I was in the everglades and it was hot. It would no longer write the images to disk. I could get the images off it up to the point where it had the problem.
One of the things I find annoying is the amount of time it takes to transfer images. My 2 gig card takes upwards of 20 minutes to transfer.
Has anyone timed the transfers with the new Epson model? It looks quite interesting.

This is normal with this lens. I would suggest getting the PTLens plugin for photoshop. It should be easy to find with google. It corrects the distortion.

I actually just did a shoot on Friday of last week with a 300 F2.8 (sometimes with 1.4X TC). You can have a look at the photos here. Some of the pics were shot with a 70-200 F4L (maybe 5%) the rest with the 300mm.

hmmm.... guess i'll find out in a few weeks. I just shipped it off to canon for repairs.

Last week I was in the everglades shooting birds and my autofocus just
stopped working. It hunts from one end to the other of the focus
range but will not lock on. Tried 3 different lenses all the same. I
have tried updated the firmware, removing all the batteries but
nothing works. Any ideas? Any one had the same problem?

Thanks for the info Richard.

Thanks Pierre,
Where do you order your filters from? I was checking in Canada but Vistek seem backordered and Lozeau are out of stock. Have you ordered from the US?
Thanks

I just got an EF 10-22 zoom and was wondering which uv filter would be
best for it? I imagine I would need a slim format filter. Anyone
have suggestions?

Thanks Damian. When i shoot for qtvr i use a qtvr rig which mounts on top of my tripod. It allows you to rotate the camera around the nodal point of the lens while maintaining everything level. I use a manfrotto qtvr head ( see here http://db.manfrotto.com... ).

Damian, on the shots that you tried to stitch together were they taken with a QTVR head or not? What worries me is that any small difference in the level of the camera will have a larger effect on "distortion" of the image thereby resulting in stitching errors after.

I am interested in the new 10-22 for use in QTVR photography. What I
am wondering is if the perspective distortion when the lens is shot
vertically will be noticeable or not. Normally I am shooting
automotive showrooms so I have vehicles in the foreground and the
walls/windows in the background. Any ideas?

Quebec City or Montreal? If Montreal you can go to L.L. Lozeau.
http://www.lozeau.com/. I buy all my Canon gear there. Good prices.

Left eye, right handed. Shoot the same as Beau to boot.

Hi Virginia,
Check out Rob Galbraith's site for good info on the best cards for the Digital Rebel. Seems the Sandisk Extreme is the one to get.

When I got my 300D the first picture I took was in portrait mode. I composed the shot and then SLAP!! the flash popped up. Not having used a camera with a popup flash before my first impression was this must be the dreaded mirror slap and was I freaked out!!! Since overcoming this small heart stopping incident I can't say that it has been noticeable.

I have had 4 or 5 Err 99's on my 20 D over the last year. In every instance but one I was outside on a hot day in the sun. Removing the battery reset the camera on each occasion. The other time it happened was indoors but I had shot about 1000 frames over a few hours. Seems to be heat related in my case.
