I love it!! Glad to see you are heading in the portrait relm.. Great shot..

Thanks for all the kind words. The light had a natural terrific blue hue to it, (possibly the altitude over 12000 ft and the time of day) and the polarizer enhanced the blue / and made the volcanic smoke stand out. I'll upload another image of the valley looking the other way to show the blue light.

WOW!!!! Clearly nothing more to state that what has already been written, but one of the best landscapes on this site.

Scott, thanks for the input and I was tempted to crop as you suggested - but left it. The photo is more representative as to the real Hanoi, around every corner a million things going on.

Thank you all for your feedback. I was tempted to crop off the top window too, but left it for a little input. The original is sharp, even detail on her eye in the shadow.

I like the photo, though I am curious is the original sharper than this?? It appears soft could be the scan.

This photo is part of a photo-essay of the 2004 Khumb Mela, held this
past April in Ujjain, India. On the date of this photo, over 500,000
pilgrams took a bath in the river at this holy festival. The Mela is
held once every 4 years in one of 3 locations across India. It was
estimated in a local paper that an equal amount of Sadhus or holy men
took a bath that same morning.
