Looking at your son's first bicycle ride reminds me how much concentration is required when we do something for the first time. That, at least, does not change with aging.

Really well done. The pose is good, and the expression is riveting. However, the background looks odd to me. Is this an artifact of photoediting (or the effect of a "hair light"?) that the background on the right is more pale where I would naturally expect a shadow? Because of that, and the lack of texture, the child looks like he is levitating. As a father, that troubles me ;-) But maybe this was the desired effect.

An old carton box, a few dried leaves, some glue, two kids. Let the
show begin!

Not knowing this old man, and being unaware of the story behind this picture, I find little to either touch or impress me here.
The light is hard, focus point is on the wrist instead of the face, the eyes are hard to see, and it is siting dead center.
The crop leaves the impression of discomfort, maybe this was the point?
Mind you, if this were a picture of one of my great uncles or a grand dad, I would probably cherish it, but I suspect its value to the photographer is much larger than for the rest of the world because we are lacking context. This is why I ranked it only 3/3.

Indeed, much better.

Great representation of the diffusion process.

Not being emotionally involved with the photo, to me the most interesting shape and the nicest light is on the tree cropped to the right and the reflections below in in the water. The castle sits dead center (but its reflection is cropped). The highlights are blown in the windows (and their reflection), and I find these very brigt spots distracting. If it was possible, I would have tried positionning myself to eliminate the sun reflection, and tried to capture more of the reflections of the tree in the water. Maybe by using a wider angle lense and being closer, or by moving back further with the same focal length.

Lovely lighting, well executed.

I find the extreme left of the frame to be distracting and not doing much for me. I'd be tempted to crop it near the corner of the room.

It was a magical movement, the first time with a kite. (Mom and the
big sisters in the background). Exposed for the sky, the foreground
was really underexposed. Using curves on the shadows and midtones, I
brought color back, with ample noise. So I used Neat Image to remove
noise. What else could be done?

This is absolutely breathtaking!

The french wording on the panel means: What's happening?

Very interesting lighting. I like the way it reveals the inner parts of the flower. I wonder if the picture would be better with less shadow in the middle, below the yellowish part.
Apprendre à marcher, c'est excitant!

I like the expression and, knowing the people involved, appreciate
the presence of the mother in the background. Am curious if strangers
percieve that or if it would have been preferable to have greated DOF
