  1. Hi Becky,

It looks like you had beautiful light that morning. I love the soft colors, the glow of light on the arch and the contrasting warm and cool colors in the sky. There is a nice progression or pattern of the rocks leading the eye back to the hill in the distance.

I think I would prefer to see the composition brought in tighter (cropped) so that the arch simply frames the view beyond (without any view of the upper edges of the arch). When I see the entire arch silhouetted against the sky, it makes such a strong geometric shape that the arch wants to be the dominant subject. But I find the simplicity of the arch competing visually with the much more complex patterns of the boulders seen through the arch.

Thanks for sharing this lovely moment.

I looked through all your photos. You have a very good eye for composition and color. This is one of my favorites. Although there is a lot of detai with the metal girders and reflections, the overall composition is very simple-- two children framed by a circle. The fact that there are only two colors also helps simplify the shot. There is also a strong element of human interest--one wonders what the children are looking at and what they are thinking.

    Nice portfolio. Thanks for posting.

I like how the direction of the ripples on the water mirrors the clouds and follows the same general line as the rocks. The contrast between the overall cool blue colors and the golden tones of the mist is very nice. Well seen and well done.

Very well done. Excellent use of tonality to evoke a mood. The dead tree in the center has a very fluid shape and appears as though it could begin to move. My only suggestion is to consider cropping a little on the right and at the top. The dead snag is so perfectly centered top to bottom and left to right that it seems to bring the eye to a stop--a little asymmetry might add some tension and motion.

I also looked at your gallery. Very nice body of work.
