It's Just an AC power adapter, but when it is plugged into the D100 it allows you to lock up the mirror so you can clean the low-pass filter in front of the CCD. I just want to know if it will hurt the camera to turn it to bulb and hold the shutter up while I clean it. Will it hurt the CCD to make such a long exposure?

Is it completely necessary to purchase the EH-5 AC adapter in order

to clean the D100 CCD? Couldn't I just turn it to bulb and keep the

shutter up? The adapter is like $75 on B&H.

I have $750 to spend. I have anguished much of the decision. I have

an average 28-105mm right now. Unfortunately it is f/4-5.6. I don't

care about wieght. I want quality. Can I shoot a whole wedding of

mainly a 105mm or should I get the 80-200? Will the 80-200 do well

at portraits as well as photojournalistic wedding photography?

Please help me make my decision.

What is the best Nikon portrait lens for the money? I will consider

Nikon or third party. Money is not an object, but if I can do the

same thing with a cheaper lens then great.
