  1. I had a look at your Laurie portfolio. I'm a big fan of the photojournalistic style. To me, this is the best picture in the folder so far. This picture makes me want to just stare at it and imagine the splendor of it all. The subject appears to be either in deep concentration or just taking in the splendid view. Either way, a contemplative shot. You can just see it in a newspaper or photo essay.
  2. The Olympus e-10 doesn't take very good low light pictures. So I had to focus on the subject when there was a huge firework and then wait for another large firework to take the shot, hoping they didn't move in the meantime. Painful but rewarding to me.
  3. I meant to take some fireworks pictures and ended up photographing

this couple next to me. They were oblivious of my presence. I

eventually sent them this photo after getting their contact

    information after the event.

  4. For the comments and ratings. Fabien, I didn't notice that "polar-toilet" similarity till you mentioned it. That should be my caption for the photo! Also that is a good point about using a wider shot to express the loneliness and space. I actually took the shot with the camera vertically to stress the space between me and the subject but cropped it to look like it was taken horizontally. Maybe next week when I have time, I will try out what you suggested.
  5. I'm partial to people using the Olympus E-xx series cameras :) I gave it a 5 for asthetics and mostly for effort because I know how hard it is to capture motion especially in low light conditions with the E-20.
  6. I like the way it draws your eyes into the center of photo. However the people on the side seems distracting, maybe at a slower shutter, the people could be blurred out more? (less visible facial features) Or you could experiment by taking some with just that one person directly in the center of the photo. (Black shirt person waiting by the side.)

That is crazy! :) I have never seen your photo or any other photo like that before when I took mine. Forgive me if it seems like plagerism. I wonder how many others with a similar shot.....
