"C'mon down, make yourself comfortable. We have plenty of room here..."

It's a funny country we live in. People walk away from perfectly usable towns, buildings, cars and motorcycles. We have so much to waste, and we do. You just wouldn't find this scene anywhere else, would you?

Very cool. You might name this, "Tenacity." Looks like it might fold flat at any moment!
-
Queasy color. (Seems to be tonights's theme.) Looks like the express to Teletubbieland.

Nice composition, out of a subject that didn't offer much. Come back around 8 am or 7 pm sometime, when the California Zephyr is due, and there'll be some sort of a crowd.

The lighting is dull, but what an interesting subject! From this angle, it looks so architectural.

So sweet. The shot is full of the pleasure she took in posing, and the pleasure you must have felt in snapping this. It couldn't have been done any better.

That's what I call "filling the frame." The eensy-weensy camera just completes the joke.

Lovely, quite evocative. Part Futurist, part pictoralist. How many shots did you spend before this came by? Isn't digital grand for his kind of low-percentage photography?

An early morning, cold, lost sleep, but you're still out there shooting. Good for you! I'd back off the color saturation, though.

Nicely seen and well-rendered. This picture really suggests the experience of living and walking in a hilly village, all ups and downs. I'd love to see the little waterfalls that pour down the steps here when it rains.

Stunning, fabulous, mythic. I could go, but let me just say that this is the best of a dozen shots I've checked tonight. I'd LOVE to see this myself. How far north were you, and in what season? Any chance of good summer viewing up there, wherever?

Wow, that's splendid! Once again, less is more... so that's all I'll say.

Technically speaking, it looks fuzzy, but what wonderful light. A fine composition too, for a fresh look at an old favorite.

Too contrasty for my taste, but worth another attempt.

It's what made America great, stars and bars. A nice shot, which benefits from the vignetting dimming the open sky in the upper right.

Either you have a keenly skewed vision or you live in very quirky places. Or both, I think. OK, I must have an explanation about what lies to the left and right sides of the frame...

Fresh & funny! This is the best of a dozen images I've seen here tonight. It's a found image, true to life, but also a created composition. It makes me think of ejection seats, or parade floats. But the man seems asleep, unaware of his perilous position atop the car. That's one of the first principles of humor. darn, I was in the South in the seventies. Why didn't I take this picture? Actually, the same scene's probably still available out there.

For me, the color makes this shot, such little color it is. That faint blue adds a sense of how cold it was there. And it looks like you're almost standing in the water! A very nice, subtle statement.

Wow. Very nice. One of those "You shoulda been there!" shots.
Wild Ocean

A nice moment!I wouldn't call it "wild," though. The time exposure makes the ocean surface seem very smooth and calm. The water moving across the foreground rocks makes me think of a title like "Ocean Getting Up and Walking Around" instead...
