  1. A filter question?

I have three 39mm leitz filters.

Can Anyone tell me the exact original use of these of these

filter . I believe they are correction filter correcting daylight

balanced fil to tungsten or vice versa I have searched the previous

threads and I have searched the LUG archive but no luck . . The

first is CF, #2 SL, #3 A Thanks Tom

  2. For all the Northern New England Leica / Photo enthusiast: I attend

an opening of a Boston Photographer Kris Snibbe. He has a show at the

Bates College Chapel, Lewiston Maine. Kris has a number of photos

taken in Nepal, China and in the U.S. concentrating on Buddhism.

Kris, whom I met today, shot the entire show with his Leica M6 and a

35mm lens. Kris approached me as soon as he saw the M2 over my

    shoulder! Tom

  3. Its cold here! Im a Leica user here in Maine/ USA. Ive had my M7

since this spring, no problems that other users have had. I recently

found a minor problem with the M7 and cold. I was out last week and

this past morning. The temperature was a balmy 10-f degree and the

battery pooped out after 20 minutes. Now it may be the battery; they

    are the originals that came with the camera and have shot > 50 rolls;

but the come back good as gold when warmed up. I have a few options

    1. Replace batteries, but what are the temperature extremes for the

    lithium cells?

    2. A chemical hand warmer applied to the front of the camera body.

    These are easily found.

    3. Use my M2.

Any other cold weather Leica shooters out there?

  4. I've been using my M7 since the hit the US. I've shot about 30-40 rolls. I have noticed only minor problems getting the film out of the camera. I've shot with my M2 for years; the auto exposure of the M7 more than makes up for having to pull the cartridge out with your finger. I am very happy with the M7. Tom
