This photograph took a great deal of time to construct, as the snow that day was very wet

and difficult to work with. The sculpture is created and then photographed out in the field

where I created it, all the work is done over the course of one day. A few minutes after the

photographs were completed the snow began to fall from the trees, within ten minutes all of

the snow had returned to the ground, this temperal element of time is just as much a part of

my work as the final photograph.

Josh, much of my work is inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, I haven't seen the movie you mentioned but I own a few of his books, I've attempted to break away from his tradition by working with the same materials using different methods.

Constructed of disks of ice, this sculpture took several hours to put

together and arrange. The resulting photographs are the only

remaining documentation of the project. Comments and critques
