I have a repaired Korona 7X17 film holder and the film inserts are
loose inside . Should I glue them down? It looks as if one time there
was double-stick tape holding them to the filmholder frame.

Concerning film 5X7 film is readily available from J&C photo,(www.jandcphotography.com) in Missouri along with several other film sizes. I prefer the J&C Classic 200 rated at 100. Also you can readily get Ilford HP5 in 5X7 from Calumet.

I highly recommend J&C, nice guys , fast shipment, good communication, good prices, what more do you want.

Please send me your 305 & 355 G-Clarons if they are not up to your standards, I will gladly use them in my little world of LF. My 240 on 8X10 is very sharp.

Well, if you were using ABC pyro and doing tray developement by inspection then there would be no need to worry, takes the guess work out I've found.

Just give Michael Jacobson a call at Artcraft, I've found he has the chemicals I've needed although maybe under another name.

If you are interested in making your photography better no matter what format you shoot, you owe it to yourself to attend Michael & Paula's vision and technique workshop. Not only are they great photographers dedicated to their work ethic but great teachers as well and are really interested in insuring you understand what they are teaching without trying to speak all the technical brew-ha that many people love to spout about. My view of photography is forever changed for the better thanks to Michael and Paula and they are very warm, nice human beings which also is a treat in this fast-pace, instant-gratification society we live in today.

I use a 240G on my 8X10 and focus at f9 and then stop down to f32 to f64, no problems, photos are very sharp. Good luck.

Just curious, why do you want to change from HP5 ?? Have you considered JandC Classic 200 of even Efke100?

Concerning the "kick the tires" store in Atlanta, let me add a few things. First call and make sure they are open or arrange a time that you can come by, because they are not always open. Hopefully if you visit you will have better luck than I did via phone or email. I called and talked to Jeff about a LF camera and he told me of the models and prices he had and said he took trade-ins also. I emailed him a list of MF equipment I had for partial trade and it's condition and never heard from him, after a couple weeks I called back and he remembered but the LF camera price had went up and he wanted time to review the list and said he would get back with me, after a couple more weeks with no reply I called again and the price had gone up even more but he insured me he would email me a quote with trade-in. The next week the camera was on ebay for sale and I never heard from them. Maybe his business is so good that he doesn't have to do out of town sales or be considerate of potential new customers. GOOD LUCK !
I have had by best luck on ebay. Most serious sellers and considerate people will talk to you by phone and answer all questions and send more pics and even direct you to other people for reference or info. If the seller will not do that then move on to someone else.

Thanks for the tip. He sure has a reputation as a LF person.

I am searching for an afforable 8X20 camera in any condition and
would consider any other ULF banquet camera but really want the
panoramic type. Cannot not pay the high prices at ebay but have
Medium format equipment that I could trade. Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Butch Ruth
Korona extension rail / rack
in Large Format
Posted
I have a Korona 7X17 and am in need of an extension rail. I have a
rail of another manfacturer that will bolt up but it doesn't have
racks and the existing grooves for racks do not match. Any
suggestions on someone to modify this rail to work and supply the
correct racks or to sell a Korona extension rail.
