Thoughts? Is this photo too simple? Or unbalanced?
-
Thoughts on this? I like the way the shadow from the handrail mimics
the horizontal and vertical surfaces of the stairs. What of the focus?
-
Thoughts? How could I have improved this photo?
(Also, please check out the other photos in my Nightlife folder!)

This is a picture I almost deleted in-camera because I lost my grip
while taking it, and would have dropped the camera had the strap not
been firmly entwinned around my wrist. Later, while sorting through
all the photos of the evening, this one stood out as it was not a
photograph per se, but more of an abstract painting that I could not
dreamt of planning or executing.
What do you think? I'm not sure if I should crop out the empty space
on the right hand side, losing the proportional asthetic of aspect ratio.
Or is it just crap?

Recently I've become fascinated by postprocessing any and all images Itake with my digital camera and converting them to greyscale /monochrome images. In http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1893486">anotherphotograph of mine I asked "is it wrong to attempt to make digitalprints look as though they're shot with [...] B&W film?", and I'vesince given up on doing that; now, I'm concentrating on simply using alimited range of greys and the available light, because I think thatwill help me become a better photographer, digital or otherwise.
What do you think of this photograph, and my efforts to not use colour?

Would it be worth spending another hour editing this photograph to
emphasise the branch in the middle? I'm not sure if it would be better
to lighten the background or the branch, and whether or not doing that
would make it look too fake...

Whoops, my bad. I thought photo.net's upload mechanism resized images? I guess there's only a small number of image dimensions that they recognise.
I wish other people who rate this photo would leave comments - how could I either improve it, or rephotograph it, so that it would be more pleasing to the eye?

Holding my 80W desklamp in my hand. I think I burnt a layer or two of
skin trying to take this, and others, photograph. Should I have
cropped out the black areas along the bottom? Or would that ruin the
perspective?

My first foray into black & white photography.

Hi - I've cropped and upped the red channel on this photograph (my
venetian blind on a late summer afternoon) - but I'm not sure if its
_too_ cropped, or the warmth from the red channel is _too_ warm. Thoughts?
Unlit candles and stone latern.
