  1. Nobody??

    Okay, for future reference to those that might search for "South Carolina Low Country, here's what I found:

    • Bone-yard beach at Edisto Beach
    • Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
    • Magnolia Plantation
    • Audubon Swamp Gardens

  2. Hi Folks,

    I've been a long time member of Photo.net but haven't used it much in recent years. But I'm writing because I'm traveling the Hilton Head SC next week and I was wondering if y'all could give be so hints on good spots where to photograph. Of course my friends there say you don't have to look far at all, and of course there's Savannah! I'll be bringing my Sony a6k with the 16-50 and the 55-210; going light (and no tripod). So I thought I would just throw a line and see what I could pick up here over the next few days. I'm flying out Sun, Jan 14. Thank you!

  3. I ended up getting the 'Think Tank Mirrorless Mover 25i Shoulder Bag'. I used it last Thursday night at an outdoor concert and it performed great!With one body+lens in hand I was able to carry another body+lens, plus three more lenses and five batteries. With all that inside it was still light to carry and change lenses while over the shoulder.

    Thanks for your suggestions!

  4. I carry 2 a6000 camera bodies when I'm out and about. If I'm outdoors I'll have the kit lenses, 16-50 & 55-210, attached. If I'm indoors I'll attach primes. So I'm looking for a camera bag that will house and separate both cameras with attached lenses as well as carry 2 more Sony lenses and batteries (5). I want an in-field street bag, not bulky, preferable a waist or fanny-pack style; doesn't need a tripod strap.

    I ordered a 'Lowepro Inverse 200 AW Camera Beltpack' from Amazon that, from the pictures, seemed to fill these needs but when I received the bag it was just too large and "fat" for what I wanted.

    Any suggestions?

  5. <p>Here are some out takes from this year. All are taken at the with the Canon 10-22mm at 7.1. the same aperture as the problem shot. There's one there with three different light sources florescent, tungsten, and daylight. None had the lens hood on as well. No blobs. <br /><br />I've been using this camera /Canon lens combo to shoot interiors since May. On every shoot the lighting situations are pretty much the same. This is a change that has occurred in the last two months or so.<br>

    <br />Can this be condensation inside the lens?<br /><br />http://www.tlphoto.net/spots/_MG_1582.jpg<br>

  6. <p>No, no lens hood. Though it wouldn't be feasible for interior photography as I'm always shooting at the near the widest angle capturing the most space. Using a hood would also vignette the image slightly as well.<br>

    Can the lens coating wear away of be rubbed off. Would something like that have anything to do with this?</p>

  7. <p>Its hard for me to think that this is just dust. I'm pretty anal about cleaning my lenses before and after a shoot and will even lightly dust them during shooting. So the emergence of these spots is pretty frustrating. And now, add in the fact that it's taking me anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes extra to meticulous clone or paint out these spots which, with up to 40 shots per shoot, is taking a lot longer than I should be spending on them.<br>

    This problem really just kind of popped up the past few months but I've been using the lens for over a year. Surely it must have been dusty during that time as well. Do you think I should bring the lens to Canon and have them look at it?</p>

  8. <p>Not using a flash nor a filter. Yes, the spots appear on every one. Appears worse on the darker images.<br /><br />So if it's possible that its dust on the inside glass, then that would be a common problem with any lens. I don't experience this with the 24-105mm.</p>
  9. <p>I had been experiencing shots that have what I thought were dust spots on the images. So prior to a recent interior shoot I had the sensor of my Canon 60D cleaned at Canon HQ (in Jamesburg, NJ). After receiving the camera back I went off on another assignment. But I'm still experiencing the same spotting as before the cleaning. So my question is could this be something happening with the Canon 10-22mm lens? <br /><br />See a link to the image here: http://www.tlphoto.net/_MG_5404.jpg</p>

    <p>Thanks for your help!<br />Terry</p>

  10. <p>Has anyone created a mobile mirror site for their portfolio website. I'm looking for something, preferably for the iPhone format, that will create menus and simple slide shows. I'm pretty web savvy so am looking for something I can mostly do myself. I've already done some research on this so my question is for those who may have already gone ahead and actually created this on their own. Perhaps you could point me to templates or demo sites or downloadable code specifically for slide shows.<br>

    For those that do not have any information in creating mobile sites, here are good places to start:<br>

    <p>P.S. I don't have a Flickr account so building off of their RSS is out for me for now. Just looking for something to compliment my web home: www.tlphoto.net</p>

  11. <p>I was scheduled to go on a trip to Great Smokies Nat'l Park in October but my time from work was changed. The time I have available to me now is November 13-18. I still want to go to GSNP because it's been a dream of mine for some time. But is most of the great color gone? Where are the best places to go considering the time of year.<br>

    The tour leader of the trip I canceled from offered me a private tour at $500/day. A bit too steep for me. Please act as my tour guide here and send me links and info I can use. Thanks!<br>

  12. <p>Here's a strange one. This HP printer shows you how much ink is left in the three wells after clicking PRINT in Photoshop. It just showed my B&W well as full but the other two color wells (tri-color & blue) as near empty. So I replace the cartridges in the two that are low and go to print again. The app is now showing the B&W as near empty when it was so full just a molment ago. So how accurate is this gauge? Is it just a ploy to get me to buy ink faster?</p>
  13. <p>My Trinitron's menu says:</p>

    <ul>

    <li>EXIT</li>

    <li>SIZE / CENTER</li>

    <li>GEOMETRY</li>

    <li>COLOR</li>

    <li>CONVERGENCE</li>

    <li>LANGUAGE</li>

    <li>OPTION (DeGauss, Moire, Reset, Control Lock) </li>

    </ul>

    <p>then the color box shows:</p>

    <ul>

    <li> 9300k</li>

    <li> 5000k</li>

    <li> box with 3 dots: 2 on top/1 on bottom</li>

    </ul>

    <p><br /> There's a slider control next to the three dots with left/right arrows. The slider indexes from 1-100.</p>

  14. I reinstalled the CHDK. So at the top of the LCD screen I see some new icons that weren't there before: an indicator of how much card space is left and battery percentage meter. I suppose that's the CHDK working. But I'm pressing what I believe to be the Direct Print button, the small, stand alone button at 11 o'clock above the large dial, and still no menu. Do I press this button with another button? Am I pressing the right button?
  15. I recently uploaded CHDK for my Canon SD800 IS. The <a

    href="(http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_firmware_usage#.3CALT.3E_mode">CHDK

    Wiki</a> refers to an 'ALT' button to enact the CHDK menus.

    It says that the SD800's Direct Print button is this camera's ALT button. But I

    can get this to operate as such.

    The CHDK firmware splash screen did appear so I think that it took. Has anyone

    had experience with this the SD series and CHDK ?

  16. Amazon sells the SanDisk 2GB ULTRA II CompactFlash Card, new, for $27.43. On

    the same page are items listed as Used for $14.44. This price is much better

    when considering buying multiple cards, as I am. Have you ever purchase

    second-hand cards from Amazon?

    Were you sorry or would you do it again? Do you feel that it is a risk buying

    these cards?
