  1. Andrew many thanks for your kind comments. Yes, at the background is the circus ring. Back then I used to shoot a lot of colour film and very little B&W. For some reason I decided to shoot B&W for that night, which as you said, allowed for a completely different interpretation. -- Many thanks -- Marios
  2. While studying in the UK, I took a job in Great Yarmouth (summer

1988). I did not shoot much during that summer (only did 3

outtings).. A visit to the circus was one of the 3..

Although I had the negatives developed during that time I did not

print the photos until a couple of weeks back.. The image has always

been on my mind and fresh in memory.. now the print has finally

arrived... Your critiques and opinions are most welcome.. thanks.

Wonderful.. A great sense of direction created by the light (at the end of the tunnel), the wall tiles and rails, and the angle of the camera. Well done.
  3. I was invited by a friend to help cover a local amateur chinese opera

troupe. We were given access to the whole performance and to all

areas of the theatre.. In exchange we are providing photos for their

    anual booklet..

Here is one of the photos (will be posting later subsequently).. Feel

    free to critique or comment..

Thank you for your comments. I have revisted the photo.net "posting guidelines" (http://www.photo.net/photo-posting-guidelines) and have confirmed that they are guidelines not rules (section Photo Format and Size).

In this instance, I felt that cobining the 4 photos into a long panorama helps the presentation of: children who could not speak each others language, but yet could get on well. As adults it takes a lot more to communicate and positively engage..

I will take note though of your feedback for future postings..

    Many thanks -- Marios

  5. Hi Mark

True, the last one says it all. Problem is that I find the last one to be the weakest aesthetically.. Although there is "direction" (all looking towards the same point, the boat sailing away), I just wished the two children were not as close to each other..

Street photography.. One take.. One moment.. (four photos ?) :)
