  1. Dear members of photo.net community and contributors to this forum, I would like to take this opportunity and clear the air in regards to recent accusations and belligerent defamation of my name by Sherry Pence.

Couple of weeks ago Mr. Pence sent me three Minolta SRT cameras several weeks ago. Upon the arrival one of my techs noticed that two of them were severely tampered with and have already been worked on by somebody else. I personally inspected both cameras and noticed that some major parts like slow speed governor and certain bottom winding elements were simply missing. We put them back together and rendered them un- repairable due to parts availability and severe tampering. The third SRT was in a pretty bad shape as well but did not show any signs of prior ?breaking and entering?. It did however require a new winding base as the current one was completely stripped. So in order to salvage at least one camera we swapped parts with one of two none working SRTs. This was all explained to Pence in the email, however nasty emails, threats, profanities, and personal remarks continue to this day.

Sherry we are not in business of swapping bodies and cheating our customers out of their cameras. That is simply not how we operate! If you feel that there is something wrong with the camera we repaired for you, feel free to send it back as a warranty. Otherwise stop your defamation campaign against myself and my business.

    P.S.

Contrary to what some of you feel about the level of our competency I must say that I have had only a few complaints in the past 4-5 years and most of them are posted on this forum. I personally have over 10 years of camera repair experience with older and modern SLR cameras. I have built my name and reputation on older SLR cameras such as Canon FT series, Minolta SRT and XG, Pentax K and Spotmatic.

Keep in mind that in many cases older SLRs will need replacement parts and unless we use a junker camera to salvage the parts from, it?ll be rendered unrepairable. Apparently, that creates a notion among some of you that we can only service simplest problems, thus are incompetent. I assure you this is not the case.

    Regards

    Garry Airapetov
