Frederick, I'd love to see number one in color. Do the columns still hold their translucence?

When Erwin praises Leica he's ridiculed. When he criticises Leica it's gospel.

Pathetic. Have a miserable day Douglas.

Sanford: For some reason your picture has a surreal quaility to it. The lighting and
composition, actually a frame within a frame, leaves me with the impression of an indoor
shot of a wax mannequin on a bench in front of a diorama. Wierd how the eye/brain connect
works sometimes.
-
Give it a rest and give us a break Sanford. That ain't true.
-
I depends on your point of view.

Al said it first and best.

I haven't seen this talked about anywhere but it seems to me that the DMR lends itself
beautifully to take advantage of future chip developments. As larger chips become
available would it not be cheaper and easier to upgrade the component of the back that
would be effected instead of building a completely new body around the chip?

Let me apologize to all for being THE Mr. Sensitive. I found Jon's remark pedantic and
reading more like a rebuke to Paul than the friendly advice it is supposed to be. It was out
of place and unnecessary and I was offended by it and embarrased for Paul and couldn't
let it
pass without comment. And had I noticed the smiley face dribbling off the bottom the first
time I read the comment instead of just now
I would have let it pass. So Jon, do you not understand the proper location of a smiley
face? It makes all the difference in the world. And as to my choice of words Eric, you pick
between the better of the two...'playground nazi' or pedagogue. In this instance I thought
the playground analogy worked; somebody's not playing by the rules, ya' know, and
making it too hard for the others. For having taken your comment the wrong way and for a
hasty response I apologize to you Jon and to the rest of the room for creating a dust-up.
Oh and Paul, I like your Santa Fe Goose

Where do all of these playground nazis come from? They've been popping up like stinking
mushrooms the last couple of days. Give the theme some time to work Jon; there are a lot
of creative people in this forum and I'll bet someone can make a match.

Sit on it Alec. And while you do we'll enjoy the photographs. No critiqueing required.

Fred B. There's a picture of it mounted on an MP on the PhotoVillage website:

There is a certain amount of tension/tenseness in a vertical picture that is absent from a
landscape view regardless of subject matter. Consider that looking out of a dark enclosed
space through a narrow vertical slit is a different experience than looking out through a
narrow horizontal slit. How our eyes are situated on our face might indeed be why.

I am optimistic that some day there will exist:
1. a 'digital M'
2. a cellphone with 'no features'.

tom chandler wrote... "and to me the caption does not even refer to the individual,
more to society, especially the american society."
Why do you say that tom? The photo was taken in England.

Am I the only one to have noticed how familiar and comfortable the Forums new
format has become? Yet it seems like only yesterday that we all were dragged here
kicking and screaming and with some even predicting the end of the Leica
Photography Forum as we knew it. Something to remember next time.

The reflection in the window says "Super...." Super? Hmmm, Super. Oh pleeze......
Super WHAT?
-
How do you confirm that two different lenses are precisely focused in a test like this? I
hope not with just your eye and the rangefinder metering field, ie the "patch".
-
What a bunch of finger pointing, sniveling, proletarian hypocrites. Sell your damn
cameras then and feed the poor!
-
What a dropdead gorgeous camera! I can't afford one but damn don't I wish I could.
-
Cheap shot Sanford.
-
It's got to be digital. A classic example of fringing.
-
Yeah right, phill.
Great photos Mark. Nice composition and tremendous atmosphere. I feel like I'm
standing there on the sidewalk.
