I'm with you on this one, Charlie. I studied the image both with and without the crop, and I definitely prefer the full-frame square. The image is still very good when cropped, however I feel it loses a sense of 'place' and viewpoint when the foreground is removed - i.e. we don't any longer have a feeling of your vantage point from within the scene without the rocky ledge. Love it! (I just discovered your portfolio).
My poison of choice is Rollei (6008i, 6008AF, SL66SE) and I've just obtained a Distagon 4/40 FLE for the SL66SE -- I appreciate the enormous capabilites of this focal length.
