I like the humor. Make the bird in the foreground move out of the way and this would be really good.

This picture is bad. Far too many distractions--branches and leaves--are blocking the view. The exposure is decent. The fencing in the background is another distraction for me. It would be nice to have the bird in focus. Please re-compose and try again. 2/4

Tricolored Heron. Decent composition... but the head's a tad close to the top. I doubt that this would look good framed. The shadows casted on this bird from the mid-day soon are a problem for me. Shoot in different lighting to avoid the under-exposure and over-exposure in the same frame. Lose the un-natural distracting background. Good try. 3/4

I like the gesture and I like that the killdeer is an attractive subject, but that's all. I'd like better lighting on the bird's head. I'd like more DOF, and I'd prefer a natural background. It also looks like the camera was rotated off-level. It's a good shot for documenting behavior. 4/6

This is from the Air & Sea Show in Ft. Lauderdale... and a great
show it was. What comments have you?

I love the timing on this one. Lovely composition. I like the light coming through the wings, but the overexposed background is too much for me. Great shot. 4/7

I think that this photo would do well in the humor category under the title "Woody." This one is funny. Pleasant composition, but the twig is a distraction. I'd like the bird's head not pointing away from the camera as much.

What thoughts have you regarding the incorporation of the other
birds in the background? I usually try to have the background as a
solid color.

The composition is good, but the fishes' positions within this frame are bad--they are facing away from the camera.
This shot is overexposed (easy to do with metal halide lighting) and far too oversaturated. The blue tang looks horrible. The only thing great about this photo is the reef tank itself. 2/5

What do you think of the vertical orientation of this head within
the frame? Any other suggestions for improvement? I was pleasantly
surprised how comfortable this bird was with my presence. Thank you
for your time.

Wow! That's something I've never seen before. Not a good shot, but very funny and very original. 2/7

Better than viagra, eh? Funny! No... I haven't tried it.

Yep... another sunset. But I like it. I think the horizon is a little bit off-level. It looks like that camera was slightly counter clockwise. I don't think I'd take this shot myself for fear of blindness. 4/3

I clicked on the thumbnail because I wasn't sure what I was looking at. Now that it's larger, I still don't really know, but I like it. The clouds are a nice touch. You've certainly captured my interest. 4/6

Interesting bird. Thanks for sharing this one. Spoonbills where I come from are pink. I have some in my portfolio (if you care).
Anyway... your situation here with a light bird and a dark background was difficult. I'd prefer the highlights on the bird not being overexposed. I like the bird's head tilted toward the camera so that we can really see the spoon bill. Nice composition. 4/6

Wow... this is a species I've never seen before. It's both beautiful and scary. Nice timing on the gesture. I don't like the bird looking out of the frame, but good shot. Thanks for sharing. 4/6

Composition is good. Exposure a tad bit dark. I like the color of the bird against the snow. Good timing with the bird's crown up. Give me more focus and a solid colored background and I'd really be impressed. 3/4

Composition and exposure are fine. If you moved to your right a bit, you could've avoided the side-lighting. I'd prefer that the bird's beak was not overlapping its wing. I'm being picky here... but it would ease some tension in my eyes. I'd also prefer a lower angle. If you were on your belly, you'd have mostly water as a background... and not a beach line going through the bird's mid-section.

I used an extension tube to get close, but lost some depth of
field. What would make this a better photograph? Thank you for
your time.

What suggestions have you regarding exposure here? How can I bring
light to the undersides without overexposing the rest of the bird?
Your comments are appreciated. Thanks for looking.

What opinion have you about this one? Thank you for your time.
