1.
Possibly a quick google search will help you with the first question. Think those scanners are quite old now.
I have the Imacon 343 and I run it on both my 24 inch and 27 inch iMac (running Lion), all i did is buy a new connector as the new macs stopped supporting the firewire 400 so I bought a 400 to 800 cable and it works fine.
Cant help you with the last one.

Cheers Matt (www.mattlauder.com.au)

 2.
Looks like you really need to shoot another roll or two and have it processed by another lab to start ruling out possible causes.
If the film still has the problem after a different lab, then maybe it is your film.
So shoot a roll with film from a new source.
You will narrow it down.

 3.
The sample is a bit hard to see but looking at it looks like light leaking. Have you spoken to the lab about the problem. This would be my starting point. Go in there with your film and ask (if you can).
Are the light leaks in the other shots consistent with each other.
Shoot another few rolls and send them to another lab and see if you get the same result.

 4.
Never ever used mine in 10 years of shoot. If shooting landscape it will be useless as you will have a grad filter kit on the front. Seeing it is a range finder camera you would also have to make sure it is fitted perfectly. Would suck to loose part of your image because it moved.

 5.
On some sections it looks like there are very faint white lines through the squares and then your have whole squares missing that make up a + shape in all four of the colour squares. But only on a few of the lines and looks like it was ment to do it ???? maybe.
Then when I did another head clean and selected "Auto" for the conformation instead of "Print" it printed a much bigger test chart and then at the end it said, "Print Head Error".

 6.
Hi,
I posted a question a few days ago and I have narrowed down the problem.
My Epson 9800 appears to be running a head clean every time a print job is sent to the printer. It runs the clean and prints that two row patch chart... cuts it off and then runs the print job. If I then send another job to print it will run another head clean.
I have called Epson tech support here in Australia and they are yet to get back to me. Seeing it is a 2nd hand printer I dont think I will rank high on the priority list. Though they did give me a job reference number. :)
Any advice on whats happening would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

 7.
Thanks for the info guys.. I will investigate that further.
I worked out that printer appears to be printing a nozzle check every time I send a print to the printer. I did a power clean when I picked the printer up. I'm guessing it isn't normal for it to do a printed nozzle check each time so there must be an issue with the nozzles. But the thing is the system dosent tell me there is anything wrong.

 8.
I recently purchased a second hand Epson 9800 and have connected it to my 24" iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.6.
I initally tried connecting it via Ethernet but the mac wouldnt recognise the printer and kept on saying communication error then I connect it with USB and I can see and access the printer through the Utility3 and LFP panel. Though sometimes it wont retrieve info from the printer.
What I am having problems with it when I send a image to print the printer will start with a communication error and then start to print. But when it prints it prints off a 4 segment test colour chart of Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and Black. Then repeates it 8 times with different tones. Once it does this it will then cut it off and start printing my image. Which it will do in the wrong layout to the preview.
I have the latest drivers installed for 10.6.6
Can anyone please shed some light on what is going on and what the possible solution / cause is.
Thanks
Matt

 9.
The solution is to cut off the rubber around the front of your roll cage if you want to shoot with it. Or I find the best option is to remove the protection bars all together this way you can shoot verticals with your filter system on and you GX is just like the Linhof. The protection bars are unnecessary. Mine have been removed for years.
To remove all you need to do is take out the four small screws near the end of the cage closet to the body of the camera. The cage inserts are hollow so dont worry about light leaking in there.
10.
I have seen people sell atleast two on Ebay for about $3000 (Australian) I have one myself and I wouldn't sell it for anything less than $5000. Depends also on what holders you have for it.

If you are serious about selling email me as I know of at least two people wanting to buy one and I can forward your details onto them if you like.

 11.
No problem.. next year (jan 2010) I am launching a full tutorial website on editing and shooting landscapes with both digital and medium format panoramic cameras on slide film. Might be something worth checking out if your new to the camera and the film thing. The website address is www.rubbingpixels.com.au

 12.
The G617 has a lens diameter of 77mm so it should fit, but I would highly recommend you dont buy them. From what I have seen these filters have a horrible magenta cast at times and with the cost of shooting film I think you will be wasting your money on film and the filters. I would go the lee filters, they cost more but if you buy right the first time you never have to buy again.

 13.
Thanks for the input Mark, but the problem isnt really resolved. I spoke to the last owner (a mate) and he acknowledged that he had seen the same issue on this own images but thought I was normal. A work around is shooting at a smaller f stop so now I shoot it at f22.
The camera repairer looked at is an said he couldnt see any problem either, but fall off on your images dosent lie. It's a pain in the ass but not much I can do now. I got myself a Fotoman 6x24 and I like it, might even look at getting the 6x17 fotoman and keeping the GX617 as a pack up.

 14.
Martin it seams like you are spinning a bit by looing at all the 6x17 cameras available, what about this one, what about this one, what about this one.
Of all the cameras you have mentioned and asked info on and if you are a beginner to this format and you want to shoot medium format panoramic as a hobby then you will find the G617 or GX617 cameras so easy to use / learn / load film and focus. They are a pleasure to use and own.

 15.
Martin that G617 is not a bargain it is a disaster waiting to happen. Cosmetic markings showing acceptale use is fine. More than that shows lack of care for your gear. Glass scratching is neglegence. Stating that the marks "should not" affect picture quality. Tells me that the sell hasnt used the camera to know so i would guess they arnt the owner. This is a lemon.

 16.
The G617 comes with a fixed 105mm lens so the camera was sold compete ready to go for $3300. Im not sure if you can double exposure on a Noblex. I dont think you can. But it would be alot of mucking around just to extend an exposure time. Sounds like you would be best to hire both systems and make your choice that way.
With the Fuji G617 or GX617 you can shoot 220 film which gives you double the number of exposures and you save money getting it processed. Here in Australia it is $9 for a roll 120 and $15 for a roll of 220 to have processed.
