  1. Nice standard glamour shot. The hairlight is a little hot, but it still works, and although the model has an almost pensive expression, the hands look relaxed. Nice limning on the underside of the right arm. The skin tones look good as well.
  2. Great operatic shot in the graveyard(?). I love the dramatic contrast of the mask with the dark cloak. Ring of darkness (photoshopped?) around the figure may be a little too obvious where it crosses the light toned marker stone on the left. But I still like the layout.

    Orange Wig

Okay, so I like this picture just because it's so supersaturated and fun. Orange wig with the white Marilyn wig in the background and the (pensive) man with hand to face on the left is quite the crowd shot.

I like the lighting on this (although the face is a little blown out, but still effective) The direct languid(?) eye contact from the model is interesting and the shallow depth of field (where the edges dilated?) makes for a nice moody portrait.

    Simple composition

Okay, I must admit I like this. The single red spear of grass bisecting the frame with the incongruous snail shell up on the neighboring blade makes a great counterpoint. The picture is a "Simple Composition" but interesting never the less.
  3. A stark, almost animalistic portrait (the direct gaze of a predator, etc.) Great bronzing effect, with a nice catchlight in the eyes even though the left side of the models face is >almost< lost in shadow. Impressive!

The framing (marker on 35 neg?) is interesting, I like the texture and line of the stone steps echoing the slightly leaning pose of the model. Nice shot!

I like the strong lines of the model's face against the shadowed background, the short depth of field which brings the eye into focus but softens the hair in the forefront of the picture. The only distraction I see is the one strand hanging straight down through the otherwise crisp profile line of the nose. Great shot!
  4. Okay, the pose and cropping I LOVE. The only thing I would add is a bit of fill in the dark shadows of the face. The nice limning of the cell phone to pop it out against the shadows and how it echoes the curve of her hair is a great accident(?) as well. The silver jewelry does a great job of leading the viewer's attention up to the cell phone and then to her direct gaze. A nice engaging portrait.
  5. The model's engaging, but the smile seems a bit too friendly for someone holding on gun on the viewer. I like the reflections on the sun glasses and the nice blown-out white background contrasting with her black top. I wondering though, if the depth of field should have been pumped a bit to get the gun into focus (because certainly the viewer is drawn to trying to focus on it...)

    Alley shot

I like this shot. The broken glass giving just a bit of interest under the legs is a nice accident(?), the orange cast is not overpowering either and lends a nice highlight on the bricks moving the eye around the pic. The only distraction I see is the cardboard box breaking the line of the leg and messing with the nice perspective lines of the alley floor.

Interesting shot. Long exposure smearing the moving cloud cover adds a nice feeling of motion, while the blue lights low in the picture imbue the image with an eerie feeling not usually found in a nighttime cityscape shot. I'm not sure if the star filter(?) was required though.

This is a great found shot (fence top, with razor wire along some street?) The deep depth of field keeps the razor wire sharp and still lets you see the detail in the power pole. I also like how the pole top on the lower right echoes the angle of the telephone pole on the left.
  6. I love the smoothing till the point of it looking like an acrylic painting. I maybe would have pushed the lip/tongue tone a little redder, but all in all a GREAT shot. (the almost solid blue irises and direct gaze give the shot a very forceful connection)
  7. I'm impressed by the white blown-out background that doesn't take out the model's shoulder, and the great highlights you achieved on the latex. Getting black latex gloves to show any detail is to be admired as well.

Did you use many, many softbox/diffuse lights?
