Sara, if you are willing to spend about $130US, the vivitar 100mmf3.5
macro has gotten rave reviews for its price. Its no canon, but you
will gain 1 fstop as well as 1/1 macro. I have seen portraits with
this lens and they are tack sharp.LB

I had to read that response a couple of times, now I get it The BMW
is the Canon and the Yugo is Sigma. Never hear it put that way before-
Get the point. Marko if you already read the reviews and made up your
mind why ask the question and dismiss the opinions of the responders
on this pannel. I have learned alot from Joe, NK guy, Preston
Merchant, Puppy Face, and others who obviously know their business. -

I just got back from the olympics and had an eye opener. I brought
the sigma 28-70f2.8 and 75-300dl, my gilfriend brought the 28-135is
and the 100-300f5.6L. First of all almost all of the serious
photographers shot L-series canons and top end Nikons(no sigmas except
a few spectators)the eye opener was when we got our slides back. my
slides were not even close. less color much less sharpness, and far
more distortion, I am selling both and will upgrade to canon.

I just aquired an ef 35-135f3.5-4.5 and I have a 30 day return on it,
does anyone have experiance with this lens. I thought I remember the old magic lantern guide saying it had 2 aspherical elements, but I would like to hear from a user. please respond only about this lens. thanks
How nice is SIGMA 28-135 zoom for a professional
in Canon EOS Mount

The words (great lens) and (best choice) should have some meaning, If
you are refering to a canon 28-105, 24-85,28-135is, or even a nikon
28-105, 24-120, or minolta 24-105. then maybe those words would have
some meaning in refering to the budget zoom class. But to use those
words for a cheaply constructed 13 element Sigma is a joke.-LB
