Congrats Eirik on your POW selection. But even higher congratulations are in order for your portfolio publication in the November/December issue of Lenswork, which is in my opinion the finest photography publication currently on the market. Your work is wonderful. Keep it up, and keep showing it to us here.
(On a side note, in the same Nov/Dec issue of Lenswork, there is a portfolio of yet another photo.netter, Mehmet Ozgur. Two in the same issue. Wow!)

I agree that the Photoshop work is obvious; looks like a composite. But I don't think you can say definitively that the moon is a Hubble shot. It's definitely possible he could have captured this with his Nikon.

Mike, this is a wonderful shot. I think your composition was spot on, and with the brightest part of the sky just above and behind the apex of the rock pile, it draws the eye right to it. Your execution of this image approaches perfection. Great job!
Occasionally on this forum, folks, while debating the merits of this or that camera compared to LF, will say something like, "...well, up to about 8x10 print size you won't be able to tell the difference." I shoot 4x5 myself (in addition to Nikon D200) and have always maintained that even at small print sizes, I can tell the difference. Even viewing via the computer, as soon as this image popped up on my monitor I instantly knew it was a LF shot. I would love to see a print of this resting in my hands.
Once again Mike, outstanding shot. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Regards.

This is a great shot Thierry. I've just spent the last hour viewing all the images on your website, and I have to say you are very good at your craft. I especially like the shot of the International Space Station transiting across the sun. Fantastic!
I've begun to develop an interest in astrophotgraphy myself over the past year or so, and I don't think the average photographer understands or appreciates the difficulty in attaining the shots you have captured. Keep up the good work.

You're right, Joseph; Lake Louise is a beautiful place, and you've captured it well. I was there during the summer three years ago--but alas, I was not blessed with an interesting sky. I hope to get back one day.

Great shot. I never would have guessed you could get that level of sharpness while stacking both 2x and 1.4x teleconverters on a 300-800 zoom lens.

Another terrific portrait, Alec. Your work never disappoints.

Doh! Yes, I now see the HDR folder.
How many exposures do you typically use in your HDR images? What is the usually the exposure difference between them? 1/3 stop, 1/2 stop, etc.? And does is vary much from image to image, or is it fairly consistent?
You're very good at it.

Everything about this is simply fabulous. Terrific image. HDR?

"What would you have done there?"
Nothing different than what you've done. It's magnificent.

The Photoshopped moon is way too big.

My entry into digital photography is probably unusual in that until
recently I have never owned a digital point-and-shoot camera. All my
digital experience has heretofore been either with a Nikon D100 or
D200. And I still consider my D200 to be my primary camera. However,
my desire to have a "carry-with-me- everywhere-I-go" camera has led
to the purchase of a couple of Canon p&s cameras, the A620 and the S3-
IS. Both of these cameras, I am discovering, are quite serviceable
when I wish to not carry around my relatively heavy and bulky DSLR
kit.
This past Saturday, I spent the day at the Indy Car race in
Nashville. Events such as this are the perfect example of why I
acquired the smaller p&s Canons. I decided to take along the S3-IS,
which with its 12x zoom lens seemed to be the perfect fit. I spent a
few hours in the garage area firing away.
I haven't processed all the images yet, but I have uploaded a few on
my portfolio page, here: http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?
folder_id=622489
All of these shots were hand-held in relatively dim light, at 400
ISO. No noise reduction has been applied, beyond what is applied in-
camera. I have been pleasantly surprised at the capabilities of the
S3-IS, especially the image- stabilization feature. It works as
advertised. Each of the six shots were taken at 1/15 and 1/60 of a
second.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

Someone give that girl a sandwich.

Dimitris, as anyone who has ever visited Moraine Lake can tell you, this is an accurate representation of the color of the water in this lake and many of the other glacial lakes in the Canadian Rockies. There's no Photoshop trickery here.

Nice shot, Rick. I think maybe a slight decrease in saturation would improve it a bit.
Acadia Coast 2

This negative has been in the "Oh, I forgot I had this" stack for a
few years. Decided to see what I could do with it.
It was taken in Acadia National Park, near Otter Cliffs.
