Damn. I think I'm turning into a Canon collector again. Thought I had broke the habbit a long time ago! I bought a Green F1n from a friend today who enherited it from his grandfather several years ago. I remember a little about it from when I worked for Canon in the 70's but it's all faded now. Who knows the story?? Something about just a short run for Japan only? It's a lovely military green with a matching strap and a (black) 55 1.2 SSC. Anyone want to tell me what it's worth before I make a fool of myself and publicly anounce what I paid!!
Thanks

Hello Canon fans
I am an ex Canon service tech (1970's) and have repaired hundreds of Canon cameras from that and the earlier era up to the AE1. If you have any repair related questions drop me a note and I'd be glad to give you free advice.
Cheers

You don't need to use the viewfinder cover to open the battery
compartment. There is a small catch on the bottom left (as you look
at it from the front) of the battery door that you can push the tip
of a pen into and lift to open it. The battery is an A544 6 volt
alkaline available in most camera shops.
