I'm currently looking at purchasing a Ries tripod as gift for someone.

I was considering the J100 but noticed that the J600 folds up smaller and would be easier to attach to the Lowepro backpack I'm also purchasing. Who sturdy is the J600 as compared to the J100? Am I making the right choice going with Ries? (The gift needs to be a wooden tripod)

I'm currently shopping for a Scheider lens and came across a company from the Midwest, Badger Graphics, that is offering good prices on Schneider lenses. They haven't responded to my emails and was wondering if I should stay away? Has anyone out there had dealings with this company, good or bad?

I'm in the process of purchasing a 4x5 camera for my wife. I know very little about photography and could use some advice. I'm currently looking at purchasing a Wisner 4x5 Technical camera with a Schneider Super Symmar XL 110mm lens (she likes to shoot landscapes).

I've been told by her father,Wollensak family, that the Schneider lens is a good choice, but I can't get consistent feedback on the quality of Wisner.
