All 3 of the T-90's I purchased new came with an eyecup.

The 50/f 1.8 lens, and the 50/f2 lens in the "New FD Mount" are not
SSC coated.

I tried this modification several years ago, but have since traded
the lens for one in better condition, so I don't have it here in
front of me, so I don't remember which direction I turned it. It was
simple to do, as you described, but be aware that the screws aren't
Phillips head - the are "cross-point", and a Phillips driver can
damage the screw heads.
