Can anyone point me to a URL from which I can download such a Manual?
Or the address of Hove Books who, I think, sell a 'Leica Darkroom
Guide' which deals mainly with this enlarger.
Thanks,

I have the prism top to the Visoflex and unless I'm doing something
unusually wrong, I cannot fit it over the top of the M7. I notice,
too, that the shutter/mirror trigger arm can only just be set to clear
the shutter release.
Does anyone have a suggestion or must I use the Visoflex only with my
M3 body?

Susan Sontag manged to draw this question into a small book: "On Photography", I think. But her thesis was that through a deliberate choice to exclude, the photographer shapes a reality for the viewer. Dunno what happens with my stuff, then, because they're holiday shots and I'm the only viewer! Any thoughts on "false consciousness", Mr. Marx?Or do we just record what we enjoy seeing for the pleasure of seeing?

I own a Summicron-M f2 35mm. "Made in Canada" lens. I bought it a
couple of years ago in a v. reputable camera shop here in Adelaide.
For the first time last night I realised that it doesn't have a number
on the inner ring, nor, so far as I can see, anywhere else. Advice,
please.

I'm an Oz, a sometime contributor to this site and a Leica user.
I'm a human who has seen the face of lunacy this week and I grieve for
our loss of innocence. Not just the awakening to danger but awakening
to the world where individual life is irrelevant.
I grieve with my family for all of your families and I ask the same as
the rest of the civilized world:"God Bless America" and God have mercy
on us all.

Hey! Thank you all.
I began this bit because I'm really excited about the
lens/film/opportunity combination of last week. The detail you're
giving me, though, about other fast or uprateable film is more
valuable than a "look at me" piece.
Confession: I didn't process the 3200 film myself so I don't know what
was used. The printing was mine but I was really unsure about the
quality of the negs because of the exposure problems I mentioned.
Keep talking. Especially about high speed B&W film/developer/time
combinations.

I had the chance to shoot a theatre production last week - the real thing, no dress rehearsal, sit in the front row ignore the shutters. I was backstage beside the Stage Manager's desk and had access to the first gantry level. I chose the M3 because of the silent shutter (moody play, lots of poignant silences) and tried Kodak's TMZp3200 B&W film. Great results, even shooting straight into some floods on the other side of the stage. Plenty of "oooh" responses from the cast and plenty of reprints. Since I couldn't see the light meter I guessed the lighting changes after the pre-show readings and used my Elmar 90 and Elmarit 135 throughout the night. But I recommend the film. In spades.

I was the original wide-eyed boy from Oz in HK amonth or so ago. I
looked at an M6 in a sealed pack in a "You lucky customer" shop in
Kowloon. Because it was in the window in full sun, I could see the
condensation inside the sealed(?) plastic bag. I guess that this same
condensation would have been corroding the working parts and assisting
lens fungus. I gave it a miss.

I've bought an Aristophot, a device which is built like a battleship, mostly the same colour and weight! It is (was) used for macrophotography and for slide copying but I have no idea about the lenses which will attach to it. I can list those that don't because they're the ones I own. I suspect that intermediate rings are available and identified somewhere. I see a reference to it in Leica Fotografie 1971/3 which tells me that there is a pamphlet. Any ideas about how I locate one?
Anyone actually own an Aristophot or am I at last unique in my Leica collection?

I dunno, Bill. My camera store manager has a v. interesting theory about the "bloke/sheila" binary. Blokes play with the gadgets, are rivetted by Zone theory and agonise over the hyperfocal distance issue. Sheilas just point 'n' shoot. Consequently, blokes can't wait for reassurance about their end-point. Sheilas know that if it worked for them when they saw the image, it just don't matter what the other half of humanity think.
I dunno. But Brenda has a Leica point 'n' shoot and I have a gazillion gadgets. And bugger-all good pictures.
