There is a Leica lens for sale right now marked: RARE Orig.Leica M 35mmf1.4 Aspheric. I know this lens was hand made in the early 90's and that they made around 2000 of 'em, but is it really worth a thousand bucks more that the current one? Are the new ones made by robots or something? I need a 35 for my M6 and money (in this rare case)is really no object. I don't want to collect the thing, I want to shoot with it. Anybody have a comment? Ebay waits for no man...

Erwin is good for us in that he reaffirms the fantastic quality of
Leica lenses. But....I think we know that by now from visiting his
website! :-) I don't, however, think he is in Leica's pocket. I DO
think he keeps them on their toes. Good for us, good for Leica.

Just call Betty Anderson at Delta International. She prob. has one
in the $1400.00 range....Can't beat that price for a new one!

Thanks Andrew, Interesting site. I wonder what Duane's resume said
when he applied for the job of staff photographer for a radio station
that is "The Voice Of The Andes"? I should try that. Hmmmmm...The
Voice Of Maui; has a nice ring to it.

Sheesh, Brian Bell from Leica, NY told me that the Titanium and black
lenses are sputtered on Aluminum. The Silver chrome finish is
sputtered on Brass. So, for half the price of the Titanium, I'll
take black! Thanks for all the help on this. I really love this
site! No yelling and screaming....

When I bought my M6 titanium from a friend a couple of months ago, it was because of the great price and mint condition, not the finish (although I think it's pretty). I have been using his black 50mm f1.4 Summilux but now it is time to buy my own lenses. I know that this is not (thank God) a forum for Leica collectors and their "collector" reasons for buying anything, but I have to admit, I have developed a liking for all things titanium. I have a handle on a 35 ASPH, 50 and 90 in the big "T" and was wondering about quality. IF these lenses were made in much smaller quantities than the Black (or even Chrome), were they made with perhaps a touch more care? I am actually going to shoot with them, not look at them on a shelf. They cost a LOT more than the regular lenses (now), so I am wondering if it is worth it, not just for possible resale, but for shooting. Any one have a comment? Also, does anyone know the exact quantites made of the four choices (35mm, 35mm ASHP, 50 & 90)? Thanks a bunch!

Gee wiz, this forum is the first one I check in the morning and the
last one I see at night. I've read every single word on it more than
once. It has helped me to pick cameras (M3, M6 Titan.), lenses and
helped me to improve my technique and composition. I am always
impressed by the knowledge of the forum users, and the ease of using
this site. For God's sake, keep her up and running!!!! Thanks, SH

Bill, Thanks for your info. I found a Leica Imarect finder on
Ebay. I assume that there is just one model for both screw mount and
M mount Leicas? I ALSO see a Waltz for Leica finder on Ebay that has
a groovy little case (EBay #441932243). The collector in me of
course wants THAT one. Would it work? Thanks!

Thanks Al and Sergio for the instant response! Guess I'll get the
Voightlander 35mm finder unless someone out there wants to sell me an
original Leitz finder> Thanks again.

Just purchased (on Ebay, of course), a complete 1955 M3 kit, with 3 lenses and the whole nine yards. This time machine setup even has the hang tag and Leitz lens guarantee. You get the picture. Everything mint-. The 35mm Summaron has no attachment at all. I've been told that this lens (#1258952)was made before the goggles were furnished. In that case, how do you use the lens? Guess? The Army MD that owned this kit was very careful with it and I doubt he would have overlooked this issue. I just don't see how he used the lens. Anyone??? Thanks, Steve Hoffman
