I need advice on which flatbed scanner to purchase. I use primarily
Leica M6 TTL's with 35mm Summilux and 90mm Summicron and would like
members flatbed scanner reccommendations for digital conversion of
slides and photographs, color and black and white.

I have spelt the code incorrectly. It should be XOOZY and I confirm factor at 4x.

Orange Filter HOOGU which I have E39 mount is 4x factor.
Orange Filter ZOOSY in E41 mount has the same factor.

The serial no on the camera top plste indicates it is a Leica 3 Model F circa 1938. If you supply me with a serial # for the lens, this can be dated as well. This can be found on the black lens surround and is difficult to find.

I am thinking of selling the above lens. I would appreciate advising
me what it is worth in US dollars.

Hi Remi:
I have the same lens on my M6. This lens is extremely difficult to find in perfect condition. Have you checked the elements for scratches and presence of mould? The price in my opinion is cheap and may reflect its real condition. Did you check opening + closing of the diaphragm? Notwithstanding any damage, even less than perfect specimens will give stellar images, so don't worry!

I purchased one of these lenses last year and have been very pleased
with it. Read what Erwin Putts says about it in his "Leica Lens
Compendium, page 170. The focussing accuracy is just fine for use
with an M model. I think $400US is a little excessive for this lens.I
paid $450CAN.

Ovines are sheepskins. I would be very careful re applying skin cream
to leather. It may "split" on the surface of the leather and not
penetrate, thus making the surface greasy.

To condition my camera ever ready cases I give them an application of
Kiwi Boot Polish annually and lightly polish. Most camera cases are
made from cowhides and Kiwi is particularly suitable for this purpose.
