Hi,
I just pulled my hotshoe plate off with my flash tonight at my daughter's
concert. Thank goodness for backup body! I've been searching in the archives
for way to re-attach this, but I'm having no luck. Can anyone direct me to re-
attaching? Thank you, Mark

Lurking from Burlington, Vermont...Down in the single digits here, Brrrrr!

Marc, As Robt says remember these are 5 year olds! You can get real close to shoot, even onto the field at times. I've used my FM/FE2 with 180mm f2.8 just fine, Trevor's suggestion of the 70-300 sounds excellent too. That will be a real versatile lens for all kinds of activities your kids will get involved in. Keep it simple with a zoom rather than a bulky, expensive telephoto!

Don't forget the 40MM Minolta Rokkor made for the CLE. KEH has one listed for $349.
-
Is that Mr. Stillz ??
-
Thanks Claude! I use my 40mm Rokkor on my CLE and M3, great lens at a great price!

According to Rob Galbraith's site, the D2H with full USA warranty has
<a href="http://robgalbraith.com/bins/content_page.asp?cid=7-6462-

Who's getting one?

For some cool SB800 stuff, go to <a href="http://www.daveblackphotography.com/workshop/index.htm">Dave Black</a>. I think he's also featured on nikon's website this month.

Hi,
Photo.net accepts payment by check or money order also, they've got the mailing address listed here:

Think how much time you spend here and how much you've learned, it's worth it!!

Raymond,
Thanks very much for sharing! I also have fond memories of special visits to my dad's office in NYC at Christmas, eating lunch near Rockefeller Center, watching the skaters, and wandering through FAO Schwarz to ooh and aah at all the cool toys. In the mid 80's, I visited the city on my own to check out ICP and couldn't pass up the chance to visit the store again. Thanks!

And be careful of gray market stuff too!

Kevin,
What about carrying the Olympus PHD P&S in the diaper bag?!

The CLE is a great little camera! Try to connect with Joel Matherson, a CLE user in this forum, to find someone to service them. If you're comfortable using it and you like its features, then it's worth getting repaired!
Also, try doing a search in photo.net for CLE, to see some interesting past threads. I know the meter on mine has been acting up recently but spinning the shutter speed dial back and forth seems to help. I think someone else may have mentioned giving it a good whack with the palm of your hand does the trick too.
-
Yes Andrew, please do report back to us. As a fellow M and CLE user, I'd like to hear your feedback. Thanks!
-
Hey Dennis,
What about if Pedro's pitching?!
-
Hi Steve,
Glad to hear it wasn't the metering/contacts. I'd ask the usual suspects mentioned here: DAG, Sherry K, etc. to see if they mess with CLE's or they may know someone who does. Also contact Joel Matherson, a CLE user in this forum. CLE's are great, I'd hate to lose mine!
-
Vic, Thanks for the heads up!! Bravo to Western Union for calling you back!

Where's Dennis C. chiming in on those Yanks!!

Thanks for pointing out the article! I remember asking for one of her books for Christmas, after taking a documentary photography class in college. My dad checked out her books at the bookstore and said "No Way!" Like Albert, I hope this gets to the East Coast!

Andrew Nemeth's website lists them both:

What great fortune to find one, after being laid off and selling your others!

Thanks Grant!

Hi,
Replacement circuit boards are very difficult to find! Hopefully, it's just a cleaning of the contacts issue. You're fortunate that it's still working in manual mode. DAG does service these but I know in the past he didn't have access to circuit boards.
