I have just been given a 90 mm F 4.5 Voigtlander Apo Lanthar on a compur shutter.

Before buying a lens board I would like to know if this this lens is any good for 4 x5 photography and how well it compares with, for instance, a Schneider super angulon ? Has anyone any prctical experience with this lens.

I am considering to purchase a 90 mm lens. There is a major price difference between second hand Schneider 90mm Angulons and Super Ang.

Is it worth to buy the super ? Is the 90 mm f6.8 angulon a decent lens?

I am about to start photography using LF (probably 4x5). In ususal 35mm or 6x6 cameras a great deal of care is given to film pressure plates (i.e have a look on the plate of an Hasselblad A12 magazine)It seems that this might be a weak point in LF

The question are:

1) Are there several types of film slides for 4x5.

2) Is film planeity and/or proper poisionning always guaranteed ?

3) Is it worth buying the best lenses (apo whatsoever) if one is not sure that the film is

100% at the right position ? Are these lenses better in real shooting situation.

Why shipping your film to USA ? I cannot believe that all processors in Italy are incompetent, look in large cities. Anyway you would ceratinly find a proper one in Switzerland or an EU country the later would make more sense as to customs and VAT.
