  1. Hi Gary,

  2. Recently I inherited a Leica IIf (no slow speeds) in mint like condition. The year of the camera '53-54 (677xxx).

Inside was a roll of Kodachrome-X, ASA 64, with more than half of the roll having been exposed.

The camera has always been stored in a dry, cool, climate.

I would love to see the pictures that were taken, but I am not sure if the film would still be good.

What year did Kodak stop making Kodachrome-X ?.

Do you think it would be worth the chance to try and have the film developed ?

Who would you recommend develop the Kodachrome-X ?.

    Any advise most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bob

  3. Ken,

Mark Theken is the most downright, upright Leica man in the whole world. He is as honest, and fair as anyone you would ever deal with.

I have bought numerous items from him and never been disappointed.

He's a nice guy too !. A pleasure to do business with !.

  4. Doug,

I am in envy of your work. As you know I have both the 400 & 560 and an appreciation for your patience and wildlife photography skills to capture such magnificent photo's.

Both photo's are fine in their own way.

Third photo will be a "show stopper".

Thanks for posting your magnificent work.

  5. Thanks Todd, thanks for the heads-up on the reference "Leica and Other Camera Repair Resources." It is a excellent list.

One thing to keep in mind, as I am sure a lot of members already know, our good friend Roger Pelham of Trotwood, OH. has passed away. He was a wonderful, and honest Leica great guy.

See the LHSA tribute to Roger, in the LHSA VIEWFINDER Vol.35 No.4 4th Qt. 2002 by Jim Lager.

  6. I just got back from Barnes & Noble and the book is on the shelf. Unfortunately it had been dropped so I didn't buy it ($75.00 USD)

    The book is titled:

THE MAN-THE IMAGE & THE WORLD ISBN: 0500542678. Here is the link for the book at Barns & Noble on line: ($60.00 USD)

Very nice book. I will add it to my HCB collection of books.

    Good Luck,
