Has anyone tried Varicon RC paper? If so how did it look?
Thanks for any tips.

I have a chance to buy a Kodak Anastigmat Lens. I am an 8x10
beginner. What does "Anastigmat" mean and would this lens serve as a
"long" landscape lens? Any help would be greated appreciated?

I would like to use a bleaching bath on my prints. I would just
like to try and add some "sparkle". The advice seems to be to use a
"weak solution" of Farmers reducer. Can someone give me some idea of
what the correct solution is and how long should the print be
immerged.
Thanks in advance,
Jerry Cunningham

I need to know the filter size on two LF lenses.
1. Schneider symmar-s 360 mm (appears to measure around 1.190mm)
2. Commerical Congo Yamasaki 360 mm (appears to measure 1.166 mm)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do I store mixed Sistan and Selenium? Just a plain dark jug
with a screw on cap? How long will Sistan and Selenium last stored in
such a way?
Thank You

I receatly bought an old Elwood 8x10 enlarger. It had been converted
to a cold light. I understand the cold light was meant for graded
paper. Is there a way that I can filter my existing light so that I
can use normal filters for varible constrast papers? If not, is there
anyone that knows the cost of buying the right tubes from Aristo?
Thanks for any help,

I want to learn how to retouch negatives. Kodak does not carry hardly
anything in that line anymore. Is there another source of retouching
supplies.

Does anyone know where I can buy such a device?

I am using an older ZoneV1 cold light on a Bessler 45. I have been
told by some that a new V54 bulb would convert my head to the correct
light for varible contrast papers. Is this the way to go or will a
cc30 G filter work well? The difference in cost makes this an
important question.
Likewise, if I go the filter route how much will this extend my
exposure times?

I have seen several "scanning" black and white densitometers for sale. Can these instruments do regular transmission tests on black and white sheet film? Can anyone give me advice on what to look for in a densitometer?
Sincerely,
Jerry Cunningham

I am interested in buying a densitiometer but most densitiometers appear to be made for color. Can a color unit be also used for black and white?

Do all color densitometers register in black and white? Do I need
the reflection capacity only?

I am considering buying a densitometer for my BW LF photography. How useful is the densitiometer and what do I need to look for in a densitimeter?

I have recently started shooting large format. A photography instructor that I know maintains that Tri-x has a much richer tonal range than TMax100. He feels that this is due to the Tri-x being a true silver based film rather than a dye process which he maintains is the problem with TMax. I don't want to start a war but I would like some informed opinions.

I am a beginner at LF. I have started using a Jobo 3005 to process 8x10 TMAX 100 film. I have been using D76 and then fixing with plain jane Kodak fixer. I have been placing the emulsion side toward the hollow center. I am getting purple lines where the film apparently is overlapping. I am fixing for 13 minutes and I am still having some problems. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I just got started in LF for well under 1000.00 I bought a used
Calumet C-1 with a Schneider Symmar S lens from e-bay. Everything
worked great. Just keep looking.

I am just starting on 8x10 film developing. I bought a beslser motorized base and several unicolor drums.
Question one: How much developer in ounces do I put in the drums for 8x10?
Question two: The drums leak rather badly. How can I correct that?
Sincerely,
Jerry Cunningham

I bought a used Thomas Duplex safelight on e-bay. What are the correct filters to use for V.C. black and white printing? The unit seems to have a two inner red filter and then two red filters on the adjustable doors. Is this correct?

I am looking at buying a 20x24 Besler vacuum easel that does not have a vacuum pump. I would like to buy a regular industrial vacuum pump so that I can locate it outside of the darkroom and get away from the noise and vibration. I would rather not use a regular home vacuum cleaner because of those reasons. Can someone give me some idea of the specifications on a vacuum pump that should work easily?

Does anyone make a daylight tank for a 5x7 that will hold 10 or 12 negatives? There seem to be lots available in 4x5.
-
I am looking for a 5x7 developing tank. The type that permits one to develop about 12 negatives at once. Most of my work is studio shots so I can pretty well control the conditions. Any help on finding one of these tanks or a source for these tanks would be greatly appreciated.

I am having a terrible time spotting my RC prints. I am using a 4x5 camera and the quality is quite good. However, my spotting ink just seems to sit on the surface of the print. I tried "Spottone" as well as spotting pins from Photo Impressions. Same problem. The spotting ink stands out like a sore thumb. Help! I have some beautiful prints that I am ruining because I can't get the spotting figured out.

Does anyone know a source for new ferrotype plates and waxes?

I am considering buying a large quanity of TMax 100 sheet film as a hedge against Kodak discontinuing the film. What is the best way to store it and how long do you think the film would last?
Fuji 600mm for portrait work
in Large Format
Posted
Dear Sir:
I own a calumet 8x10 C model. Has anyone tried portrait work with
the Fuji 600mm C? The camera has a large bellows draw but I am not
sure it is large enough.
Sincerely,
Jerry Cunningham
