I was up early to photograph the sunrise from our summerhouse. ( 3

am.) The sunrise was not memorable, but when I got ready to hit the

sack a couple of hours later the sun started to break through the

clouds and this scene appeared. I would have liked the Kiel-Oslo

ferry to have been in the sunny part to the right, but the ferry had

been lying dead in the water for about an hour or so.

It was probably ahead of Schedule.

Some parts of the clouds are washed out but on the 30 inch print

that I made it doesn?t look too bad.

Should I have included more/less water? or sky?

Please note that this was not shot in a studio and must not be

considered as a "pro" studio photo. An on-camera Canon 420EX

Speedlite bouncing off the celing, and a window to the right

provided all the light.

Please comment on my first attempt at what could be called an art

picture. Don't hold back.

Not a picture I can repeat. In the two years that have passed since

I took this picture, the roots have grown together and the "nail"

part has disappeared into the ground
