re: tight lens hood-my 28-70m is somwhat difficult to put on when I grab it with my whole hand and try to twist it on-if I use my thumb and forefinger and grab one of the "petals" and give iot a twist there is none of the tightness-it goes on very easily-I wouldn't use a knife to file it down-jsut try the thumb/forefinger method and i think you'll solve your problem...

MY BUDDY HAS A CANON 70-200 F4 LENS-SHARPEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN (MAYBE SHARPER THAN MY CANON 80-200 F2.8L) ITS NOT HEAVY-YOU CAN GET A TRIPOD COLLAR(DONT KNOW WHY THEY DONT JUST SUPPLY ONE-NOT HEAVY ENUF I GUESS). IMHO 35MM FILM NEEDS ALL THE HELP IT CAN GET TO PRODUCE VERY SHARP 8X10 IMAGES-ITS JUST VERY SMALL. THIS LENS WILL IMPRESS YOU. YOU WONT HAVE TO SPEND DOUBLE THE $$$$$$ FOR A 70-200 F2.8. KEEP IN MIND THAT WITH A 1,4X TELECONVERTER YOU WILL HAVE AN EFFECTIVE APETURE OF ONLY 5.6

Hi Vernon
I cannot comment as I have never used a Pocket Wizard. They seem to have the market-I always see PW on any camera on any photo shoot on TV. Recently attended a seminar on flash and the instructor used PW-I understand they're very dependable but Im sure the Flash Waves is a good product as well considering the $270 cost.
Hope this helps
