Another in the Trollaween series. Candid, unposed street shot using

available light. Would love any comments, hints or tips. New to

night street photography and just starting to develop my style and

what I can and can't get away with using the various high speed b&w

films. Thank you.

Karen: Thank you for the comment. No, it's a non-posed candid street shot taken after the Fremont Trollaween parade (everyone was milling around, waiting to go into the Troll-a-go-go party). Light fallout can't be helped, night shot with available light (a street light probably 10 ft behind me) without a flash.

I've recently forced myself out of that comfortable zone of shooting

inanimate objects and landscapes and into street photography.

Something I've always wanted to do, but it has always seemed so

intimidating (still does even when I'm doing it; but also

exhilirating). The shots I took on Halloween night were a bit easier

(people in costume tend to want to be seen; so it's more relaxed). I

also like the inconspicuous nature of shooting without a flash (hence

my fondness for Neopan 1600, Delta 3200 and TMax 3200. Now I'm

looking to maybe clean up my shooting more as I also try to get a

handle on how these films perform under the different lighting

conditions. Any tips or observations are very much welcome. Thank
