  1. I had a look at your other folders, and it's pretty clear that you take photography seriously. all of your work is quite strong. the landscapes are amazing. Print wise, this is pretty bang-on, but I find the subject matter falls a bit flat for me. There's not much of a story or hook to make me interested. I hope that doesn't sound too harsh. But i guess this is the place to be honest. Looking at it longer, I can see that you put thought into it, but it doesn't grab me like your other photographs.

    Summertime

I like the idea behind the photo. I would say that it is a bit out of focus, and for me there is a bit too much head space. So a bit tighter in the framing, and maybe you could try using a skower shutter speed and popping an on camera flash near the end of the exposure.. This way you would get a trail of motion, and freeze the action at the same time.

  2. This photo captures the general spirit of a Gay Pride parade. I do agree with the previous comments about the main subject being framed tighter, and the sign in the background being a bit blurred. I do think that the second photo-shopped version is an improvment.

I'll have to agree with the comment about Desolation 1 being a stronger photograph.

To me it seems far more direct, and gutsy.

Now about this photo. I think these photos are easy to take. I'm nervous about sounding too harsh, but I guess it's better to be honest. It seems there is always a homeless person sitting in front of some building, sign,or wearing an article of clothing that makes the situation ironic. Just the other day I saw a homeless man wearing a Chanal No.5 T-shirt. Taking photos of this subject is always a bit of a slippery slope. I think if you had been more up front towards the subject, you would have had a much stronger picture. Now I'm not sure if this circle is meant to be a technical critique, or a social one, but this photo, and others like it certainly do spark a bit of debate.

For me, this is one of those photos that the subject will be glad she has had taken of her for years to come. You can't really tell when it was taken. It has a certain timeless thing going on. It's so simple and elegant.
